Just look at it from the back.
I cut up an old K&N air filter and slid it in between the pan and cross member until I can put some good mounts in.

I remember Carl having this problem with Anchor. So, even though Corteco uses a different PN they have been screwing this up regularly, requiring you to screen all the mounts? Argh!

I can't say 100% that they are OK - if they can ship one bad batch they could have shipped others.
Please check to make certain.
Danglerb, Mike, You could put them in a vice and apply side pressure.
You can actually do it with your hands as said early in the thread.
If they are out of the car you can weigh them. Without the nuts, washers and spacers they weigh 1 Lb 12 onz. If they weigh more than that they could be suspect.

Just for the record - I always stand by my product and will be replacing all bad MM's with new good ones free of charge including shipping costs.
I doubt I will get any joy with the manufacturer as they are not being used for the application they were manufactured for.

Bill,
Weighing is just another indication but by far the best way is crush them with your hands or put them in a vice and squish them. You will know immediately which is good or bad.

Well on the bright side of this I'll get to try to set a new time record for doing the motor mount job. We think three hours in and out should be a good goal. Don't have to do oil pan gasket so it should be easy peasy just like the last time.

Having the MM collapse sounds like it could present a serious hazard if a person isn't careful about keeping hands and fingers out of potential pinch or crush zones while installing MM or working on a motor.
Any thoughts on a premium source for MM's, not solid, but maybe something like Prothane?

Working on your own car exposes you to more risk than just staying safely tucked up in bed. Yes there are some risks that aren't desperately obvious and everybody here will I am sure try very hard to make sure they make those risks as blatantly obvious as possible.
But, there are risks that should need no explanation, like putting one's fingers in a vice and then tightening it oneself. If one is in danger from those sort of risks go home go to bed and stay there.
Irrespective of how good my engineering knowledge is (it's good believe me) I wouldn't be under a car while I am in charge of lifting or lowering it , and I wouldn't let any one else be either. similarly I wouldn't let anybody have there fingers or other small bits in between stuff that was going to get closer together. But thats just common sense isn't it?
