Default New Product: Oil Line Adapters

We now have oil line adapters that convert your metric threaded engine and/or radiator to -10 AN fittings.

This allows you to make up your own stainless braided oil lines from readily available parts to
  • replace your OEM oil lines with SS braided ones, or
  • locate your oil cooler anywhere you want, or
  • install an Accusump

They are made from steel with an OEM-style yellow chromate plating.

More details and information are available here:

This will make things easier to a hobbyist for sure.

A question: Why steel fittings and not aluminum? Is there a benefit/necessity here?

Why steel and not aluminum? I used steel because steel fittings are better with crush sealing rings, and if aluminum, we would have to switch to o-rings and I did not want the mess.

So I stayed with steel so we could use the same crush rings to seal them. Steel threads are a little better where old/dirty threads are involved, too. Aluminum threads will gall up if everything isnt just right.

Tristan - I am reading your mind and this was the only thing fit to publish! :-)

There is no reason to cap them. As long as you are not putting oil in the integral cooler, there is nothing to come out. Unless the radiator is leaking coolant into the oil cooler - but then you have another problem anyway.

If you want to cap them anyway, (for dust or cosmetic reasons) you need a M20 threaded cap and that might be hard to find. Or install a pair of these AN adapters and throw a -10 AN cap (easy to find) cap on them.

If you want them in Aluminum, you can get hem from BAT inc in FL.. They also have steel, and offer to go -8, -10, -12 and some other sizes..

I have -12 for some lines, -8, and -6 for others on my setup.....

Not knocking Carl's product, just putting it out there that there are other options if others wish to go another route....

I went the aluminum route many years ago...

Cheers,
