Just bought new shoes (Panamera 18") for the baby
I scored a set of factory Panamera 18" 10 spoke wheels (take-offs) with caps for $595 on fleabay today and now I have to get tires. I'm thinkin' Hankook Ventus V12 evo, but I'm really not sure what size tires to get. Just street driving/cruising with no spectacular burnouts or DE in my life, so I do not feel compelled to get caught up in the "my d*ck is bigger than yours" syndrome. 225/40/18 on 8" fronts (ET59) and 255/35/18 (ET53) on the 9" rears is where I'm at now. Anything fatter/taller starts f'n up the speedo....I think. With 8" fronts, would I be stepping past the fenders and scrubbing? With the 9" rears the 255 tire puts down a solid 8 1/2" footprint. What do you think?

Very nice wheels and at a very good price too!
I think they will fit the 928 very well.

I've got a pretty big duck myself. We are talking about ducks aren't we?
I'd go with fatter tires. According to the Hankook website
http://www.hankooktireusa.com/Produc...um=2&FnCode=02
245/35ZR18 XL fits rims 8.0" - 9.5" tire diameter is 24.8"
265/35ZR18 XL fits rims 9.0"-10.5" tire diameter is 25.3
Gives you a slightly fatter footprint that will fit in the wheel wells and should have only minor difference in speedo output. Confirm the diff with a GPS unit tracking your constant speed going down the interstate.
Hankook Ventus V12 evo are great tires.

From some one who is going through this right now, you want a tire diameter as close to 25 inches as you can get, and it sounds like you are at 25.1 and 25.0 so that is good, and the offset is good for the front at 59.
David (DR) said the range was 24.9-25.1, and since DR has sold more 928 rims and tires than just about anybody, I am going to go with what he says.
I am also going with the Hanckook's, I thought about the PS2's but putting 1500$ tires on my car every year is more than I am willing to spend.
Here is what I came up with, for the fronts a 225/40/ZR18 (25.1 diameter) on a eight inch rim and on the rears a 295/30/ZR18 (25.0 diameter) on 11 inch rim.
Congrats on your new rims and tires.

FWIW, in my experience with 18" rims (another car), you need to really watch how you park to avoid kerbing the rim edges (less rubber height), especially when you have a lot of lock on - caster will bring the rim edge very close to the ground.

That is a pretty impressive duck. You don't take that duck out in public, say when you miss a golf swing or something do you? Could cause real problems if there are any females who a duck lovers nearby

If any of you have ever watched Ozzie Rules football, you may have noticed that when the goal umpire signals a goal scored (between two large posts, as disticnt from between large and small posts, which is called a 'behind' , 6 to a goal), the goal signal is both hands pointing horizontally, index fingers pointing out. It is rumoured strongly that an approving crowd behind the posts call out together "How big is your D*ck ??" as the umpire stick his hands out.....

Yes indeed my duck is very large. I like to play with my duck too. Sometimes I'll stroke it, my duck really likes that.... it stiffens its neck out straight causing its head to bob about. On some occasions when I'm driving around I take my duck out and dangle it out the window. You should see the looks I get. Women seem to love big ducks as well, one of the reasons my wife married me I think. Men mostly are envious they don't have a duck as large as mine.
I love Aussie rules football. A real sport in my mind not the sissy stuff played in the U.S. I cracked up when I read about the goal umpire and the "How big is your Duck??". No way to indicate how large my duck is with my hands. I typically just show anybody who asks.
Back to the tires, Hankooks are very good performing and wearing tires. Besides the high ratings from Car and Driver what really helped make up my mind were the number of 24 Hours of Lemon's cars had them as their track tire or as their "wet" tire. They shed water like a duck. My duck sheds a lot of water.

It's no longer the size of your duck that impresses, it's size of your bill and how you manage it. The youngsters probably don't understand.
To the OP- Look for a tire and tire size that give you a stiff sidewall rib to protect those pretty rims from curbs and other hazards that will jump out at them as you drive.

Sorry, I was takin' care of business for a couple hours... damn restaurant customers......they want food, and drinks, and more drinks. Boy, this thread degenerated quick thanks to Andrew.
AO, you may be right about being bigger, at least if the size of your man-***** is any indication. I hear that hermaphrodites are hung kinda funny though.
