As Greg eluded to... the wheel wells can hold some serious rubber.
I am running 295/30/18 Hankook Ventus V12 Evos at the rear on 11" wide rims (they replaced the PS2s that wore out) and 225/40/18 PS2s at the front on 8" rims.
I would think with 9" rims out back, you'd need spacers?

Yes indeed my duck is very large. I like to play with my duck too. Sometimes I'll stroke it, my duck really likes that.... it stiffens its neck out straight causing its head to bob about. On some occasions when I'm driving around I take my duck out and dangle it out the window. You should see the looks I get. Women seem to love big ducks as well, one of the reasons my wife married me I think. Men mostly are envious they don't have a duck as large as mine.
I love Aussie rules football. A real sport in my mind not the sissy stuff played in the U.S. I cracked up when I read about the goal umpire and the "How big is your Duck??". No way to indicate how large my duck is with my hands. I typically just show anybody who asks.
Back to the tires, Hankooks are very good performing and wearing tires. Besides the high ratings from Car and Driver what really helped make up my mind were the number of 24 Hours of Lemon's cars had them as their track tire or as their "wet" tire. They shed water like a duck. My duck sheds a lot of water.

We have a TV ad here where a guy pulls up at lights in something sporty, girl on the side wiggles her pinky at him, signifying she things the car is a substitute for an inadequate Duck - the guy raises his door side hand and wiggles his pinky - which is 6" long. Girly duly drops her jaw. Forget what the ad is about though.

With a wider rim, I'd get a wider than 225 front tire, espeically if you're going wider on the rear too.
235 as a minimum front, ideally 245. Coupled with 265 rears, will make for a better balanced car, with less tendency to push the nose wide on fast corners (i.e. understeer).
The 928 on factory rubber sizes was spec'ed to understeer slightly.

You have a big Duck and I have a big Moon Flower, big deal.

Those look good, and the 59 offset is great. Panamera types are probably ditching the entry 18" rims for 20"s, yo.

I used to have 20 spoke wheels on my Saab. Nice to look at, but cleaning them wasn't the most fun. Since then I consider myself a minimalist when it comes to the number of spokes, corners, creases and whatever other shapes might make cleaning more time consuming.
With a house and two cars to clean, everything that makes it quicker and easier is greatly appreciated...

Just looked at some pics of these Panamera 18" wheels. The front tires are 245's and the rears are 275's. Sounds like a good size combo.
I also looked at a couple of the eBay auctions for these wheels. None of them come with the TPMS. Will this make these wheels difficult to balance?
