Default Central Ohio Sunday Drive 4/18/10

One of the local 928 owners has put together a nice Sunday drive. At last count there are 11 of us that will be driving. If you're interested let me know.

The Tour
Here is the itinerary of the proposed tour currently scheduled for April 18th, 2010.
(Rain Date of Sunday April 25, 2010)

Group gathering point: Sunday morning 9:30 to 10:00 A.M. at the Cracker Barrel, located at the intersection of Rt#36 West and I-71. If coffee or light breakfast is desired, come earlier.

1st Leg: Rt#36/3 East to 314 N. at Centerburg, then North to Rt#95 in Chesterville.

2nd Leg: East on Rt#95 through Fredericktown, continuing Northeast to Butler (Gas/Rest stop as necessary in Butler)

3rd Leg: Rt#97 East to Rt#3 North to Loudonville, in Loudonville, left on CR #2920 West then left on CR #917. South to CR#3006 and across the Dam and on to Goon Road on Right. Follow north to the Mohican Lodge Restaurant for lunch. Following lunch, we will backtrack to the dam and turn north on CR#1027 towards Perrysville and Rt#95. West on Rt#95 to Malabar Farm located just off Rt#603 on Pleasant Hill Road. Reservations will be made for lunch for around 12:30 P.M. Luncheon entrees range from $8-12 bucks.

4th Leg: Continuing on Pleasant Hill Road for a tour of Malabar Farms. If weather and road conditions permit, we MAY be able to visit Mount Jeez which overlooks the farm valley.
This area might also make for a great group photo op.

Home Bound Options
I'm estimating the time to be approximately 3-3:30 P.M. before we begin our return trip to our homes. Those wishing a speedy return can follow Rt.#95 West to the I-71 interchange just west of Chesterville, or continue on to Rt#42 South in Mt. Gilead. There are many options for southbound members. We can travel as a group or pick-your-own route home!
OR
5th Leg
Brett made a great suggestion that following our stop at Mt. Jeez, we could drive Rt#3 towards Mt. Vernon and stop for dessert at "The Dairy", located at 300 Wooster Road just north of the city. I've been there and the ice cream is excellent!
(Not to mention that Rt#3 is a great road, too!) Home on Rt#3, Rt.#36 or Rt#229.
