Way to go! Did you have to remove any of the exhaust shielding to gain access to the modulator? I had to remove mine when I was doing this on my 84'. Glad you got it fixed.

no, I didn't have to remove anything. Just popped off the rubber cap and turned the T-bar 3-4 full turns counter clockwise and the problem was solved!

I've got a slight groaning coming from the tranny when in gear. I can hear it at stop lights. I'm hoping a fluid change will remedy that.

I may try to adjust my modulator, too. Mine shifts fairly hard, but it's precise and quick. Not really sure how it's upposed to be.

However, I do think it's shifting too early.

When you replaced the pan gasket did you use the modified pan gasket?

If you check my old posts you will locate a MB notification relating to an updated, thicker pan gasket as the older style gaskets can split in service approximately one week after installation, in way of the centre two securing bolts.

I would keep an eye on the pan gasket for the next few weeks to ensure that you have no leakage .

When installing a new gasket it is imperative to torque it up to the correct specified value, as any overtorquing will cause the gasket to splay out from the joint faces and either leak or split and leak.
