I think it is worth some $$, not 40 g's but I would say it is a 25 - 30 k car. Definitely needs the right buyer, not too many P cars this original and low miles.
I personally like to drive my cars, I don't like just looking at it in the garage so this would not be for me. Would be a good one for someone just to keep in the garage and take to concours events.

my fav part of the add:
"What makes this car more unique and desirable than any other 928 is the color combination of Black interior and Black exterior."
Black on black is unique??

Yes! Dozens of beautiful pictures of an unmolested engine bay!
It might be worth this much if Porsche themselves wanted to buy one to put in their museum, but if you want a car to drive, this probably isn't it.

Lift points for the under car shots seemed odd to me, way too far in.
Always nice to have some good picts of an unmolested early car, hope somebody saved them all.
Funny, I'm thinking $40k is way too high, maybe double the market value, but its also way too low for what the car deserves. OTOH its not like its a 86.5 Still the asking price is way less than any serious restoration would cost.

That's a really good looking car. It really is. But a black on black interior is hardly an exclusive combo. You don't see many of the mid year cars with an interior in such good condition. That passenger seat looks like it's never been sat in.
But $40K is too high. Maybe if it were a 86.5. The seller brags about it never having any scheduled maintenance performed aside from the occasional oil change. Does that mean it still has the original coolant and transmission oil? The timing belt is also original. At 24 years, it could let go the next time the car is started. It's probably unlikely, but who'd want to risk it?
I think someone offered $30K for this car and I think $30K would be a fair price.

Wow, what a well preserved original car. If it was a late 86 (Vin >1000) i think it would be more desirable. I hope they get the price they want. If I had the $ and it was a 86.5 I would buy it in a heartbeat. I have seen GTS's for that price tho (but not in that well preserved position)
