Default 928 insurance - Hagerty, great deal!

Just got a quote from Hagerty for full coverage, agreed value of $25k, 100k/300k, all the bells and whistles, roadside assist and 50 mile flatbed towing. 5k miles/yr. for $584. Great price and nice folks over there.

You better check with them and BE SURE you can use the car for fun and not JUST club functions! When I checked with them a few years ago they ONLY covered you if you were at or on your way to or from a "club function"! No fun driving just because the weather it good.

I went with JC Taylor accordingly. Got tired of the idiots over at Leyland West that didn't know the difference between Kilometers and Miles... Taylor was a touch cheaper than LW anyway.

Yep! Covers pleasure driving too! And it will be a pleasure indeed... I love a car with 3 pedals... :-)

Good deal! Not sure why they told me it didn't cover that...maybe they lost a bunch of business and figured they better expand their coverage a bit!

Yup! They include pleasure driving. It just can't be a pleasure drive to work or anywhere near it

I have used them for 6 years. No problems, but I haven't had a claim.

Just another reason why MA sucks when it comes to car hobby. None of the collector car insurance companies have coverage in MA unless your car is a classic (over 25 years old). I'm stuck finding an appraiser to give a realistic value on my car and then I have to negotiate an agreed value with the insurance company. To top it off my rates will go up 50% for the higher coverage based upon the calculations.

If there is more than one driver in the house, i.e, if you are married, you must BOTH have a DD, newer than MY 2000 besides the one you are insuring with them. Gives new meaning to the term "YMMV."

"Your Mileage May Vary"

There is a list in the new visitor thread of auto-appropriate i-net abbreviations.

Your Mileage May Vary...

Haggerty told me the same... no daily driving; no driving to my mechanic (hire a flatbed only); must have Daily Driver vehicle (bonus if also insured with them); club/car show driving ONLY... other than that... free as a bird (as long as under 5k miles per year -and they check)!

What a crock of shiite!

I've had Haggerty for a year now, and I'm not restricted for the pleasure driving, so long as it's not abused - can't use car as a DD (nor would I with BlauMax). I had a claim early on for a rear ender (some kid hit me when a light went from red to green - thankfully, no exterior damage, and just a replacement of bumber guards and internal bumper shocks). I had no problems with them at all - they were very easy to deal with. Rates are great too.

584$ per year? Not bad at all!

Mine is 242$CAN per year. But the agreed value is 10k.

Yes, they allow pleasure driving, it's in writing, occasional trips to dinner, you can even take your car to work, occasionally. I have Hagerty and I was adamant on being sure that it was not only for club event usage. It's a standard policy, with caps on mileage. (5k/year), though they've never asked to see an odometer report.
Provided you have a locked garage and a relatively new daily driver. I recommend them.

I have a similar policy. 100/300/100 uninsured motorist $0 deductables comp and collision( which I believe is standard) but a $15000 agreed value. Annual premium is $428.00
