Default Just perfect....

so i went to take my front engine lift point off to add it to the pile of parts to get plated... and gave it a small nudge and.....

Time to heat it up, use some penetrating oil and get the extractor kit out.

What ever you do, don't use those thin tapered extractors. Twist, snap, now you've got a hardened steel insert in the bolt.

put a nut on top of it and weld it to the nut.

use some PB or Kroil on it with some torch heat use wet rags so surrounding areas dont get damaged then weld a nut to the top of the stud then unscrew it.
This will work better if the coolant is drained as the aluminum will heat up faster and expand more with the welding heat

welding a nut on is not a bad idea. i will have to see if i cant find a local guy that can do that for me.
