Default oil drain back question

Just curious how the oil drains back into the sump on an 86 (probably the same for all). The oil from the head poors into the crank case where?

All the holes in the head lead directly down to the crank case. Aimed at the crankshaft.

He means the visible rectangular channels on the outsides of the block drain the heads. AFAIK anyway.

Luckily no I did not drop anything. I was reading into the windage issues and such and wondered where the oil actually drains. Does it poor onto the crank or kind of down to the side?

Drains down the side, like it was in a tropical storm, and then the crank and rods beat the hell out of it.
At least that is the way I have always tried to think of it, but than again I am not the one to ask.
