Does the Temp II sensor drive the temp gauge on the pod?

Every one write this down - Kilbort is right!
The fan temp sensor is in the lower forward face of the radiator - the engine can be at 240 degrees, and if there is no coolant circulation, the fans will not run unless triggered by another sensor, such as the torque converter sensor or the refrigerant pressure sensor.

Did it again last night after I finished washing and waxing it. The temp gauge in the car would drop to zero and then the idle would come up. Could diagnose it becasue it was late and dark. But the two are definately linked. I'm guessing it's a grounding issue. Won't be able to look at it for a couple weeks but will update when I find out the culprit.

My turn- The temp gauge went all wonky while driving back from Palm Springs last weekend. Doesn't seem to be rpm dependent. All peripheral grounds were cleaned, but I haven't gone thru the CE panel yet. Will have to check all the grounds.

Yeah, I have been in the pod twice, messing with LED bulbs in the last 2 months. Perhaps it just needs a pencil eraser and some stabilant. This issue reared its head after a stretch of ridiculously bumpy interstate. 30-series rubber does not make for a compliant ride on crappy roads....

Hey, btw, the "two temp sensors in the exhaust that control the Ignition Monitoring Relay" was mentioned in another thread the other day.
What MYs had these? Where are they located exactly? Only thing I can think of on or near the exhaust is the O2, could these temp sensors be in the heads maybe close to the exhaust ports?

is this occurence happening after you wash the car or it gets wet??
Check the hot post connection for shedding insulation and or corroded wires.
Is the cowl panel fitted??
if its damaged then it can be letting water into the HVAC system area and possibly wetting the gauges. Check the blower box grate for corroded threads, this indicates a water ingress,
look for a moldy smell or wet carpet
