Porschefest 2010
It's that time again! Porschefest 2010 is shaping up to be another great event.
Three Days of Vendors, Wheel to Wheel Porsche racing, Track Tours, Food, Corral Action and lots of Pcar fans all in one place and in SOCAL
It's a blast! GPX has graciously offered to let us all take our 928's on a Track Tour together, which could be a hoot and heck of a photo shoot oppty.
And if we can find 20 running 928's, we can get a free corral and dedicated parking area!
Pits are easily accessable, so you can feed your tech appetite, talk to pro race teams, and see awesome cars and drivers up close and personal.
There is even Concours competition, so you can show off your Shark in style!
Last year we had Porsche factory drivers hosting an Autocross where you could take new Caymans and Cayannes out on the course for a real test drive!

Perhaps. or rather, Poorhaps, I will be able to bring one of my cars to the event. May be too close for the TM but okay for the ZM (Turquoise Metallic / Zyclamrot Metallic). Mark me as a solid tentative.

If the Dallas GTG crowd can get 20 sharks to show up certainly the folks in the Far West can do the same.

Wish I could but 28 hours is too far to drive.

the Porsche 356 club always has a very strong showing, as do a number of other model groups. so I think I'll kick in for a simple raffle to help boost our attendence this year, and because an open bar or tailgate keg seems like more liability than it's worth these days. perhaps a $100.00 gift cert for your choice at 928 Intl, Precision or ??
we could give a free ticket to each 928 owner that attends on Sat? could be a hoot. and the odds of winning should be very good, compared to most raffles
Good points, Dr Bob! the track tours are a blast. U get to use your own car, and see how it feels out on a real track.
they made the mistake of letting me lead some track tour groups last year again... somehow we ended up doing 2 laps a few times, hahaha... speed is supposed to be limited, but some guy in a volvo spun out in the infield, so I suppose one could say a "parade lap" of Pcars can be a bit more entertaining than a parade lap of Model A's
going onto the NASCAR section into the huge banked turn is a blast too. some folks seem to forget the speed limit on that section nearly every time. must be an optical illusion or something, but triple digits on that huge smooth track seems way too easy. rumor has it that I might be helping out again this year - kinda like asking a kid to work in a candy store, lol...

I missed this last year. I`m in this year. A cruise out to Cali is always entertaining.
Since this is not really a spectator event, How do we get access. I see lots of forms on the websight but all are for race/time trail participants. ???

Volunteer some time at this event with through your local PCA region, and gain some 'credit' for them for your efforts. Lots of things to do there, including simple stuff like parking/traffic control and through the lunchtime tour-guide duty the Rob grabbed.

The laps are supposed to be speed-managed and no passing. Of course there's always an exception or two... Hint-- Don't send a 914 as a lead car with the 'red' track tour group.
