928 when he graduates from college.

Andrew, what about the van? You did like it?

we bought my 16 year old a 82 928s when he was a junior in high school, he is now in 3rd year of college, depends on the kid, his outlook, friends and activity's i think, only tickets he has gotten were in a 96 ford taurus, takes very good care of car, my 15 year old bought a 86 944 for 1500.00,he has put it in ditch a few times but no tickets, he is 20 now, i got car back during the summer when it needed a new engine and he moved out of state, now my 17 year old daughter drives it, she went into ditch last month when lower control arm broke off at 60mph, me, i drive a 56 chevy p/u, i think it depends on the kids, but you never really know

"Judging by the car you have chosen, you are a motorist of a special breed,
and you are probably no novice when it comes to automobiles."

One of my favourite 928-related quotes, seemed relevant here..

Why not?

They are relatively inexpensive cars these days, have good safety features, and are of average performance compared to modern "sporty" (not high or ultra high performance) cars.

Are you kidding me?? I had to wait like 30 years to get my 928, I'm not going to hand my son my dream car as soon as he gets his license! He needs to learn some patience.

Even if he's a good kid I don't think it makes a good DD for a 16 year old kid. At least not that one anyway. If he wants a 928 find him one you both can work on that needs major work.
1. You will save a 928.
2. He will respect it alot more
3. That is time together neither one of you will ever forget.

If he's not the type to work on cars stick with a cheap easy to work on Honda, Toyota, ect.... Cheap body parts also.
