Your car shifts too slow, so unless you have some mods like Porken has suggested skip it unless you don't mind losing. To have a chance try updating your shifter to Lizards new setup, get a set of Kens' chips etc, combined with an x-pipe, and put your car on a diet before your brother shows up.

Those would be VERY, VERY optimistic numbers for an '82 auto! Very possible that was what was indicated, but probably closer to 135-140... I know my '81 auto has a speedo that is WAY off!

Lets assume both cars are stock.....in that case it would be close with a slight edge to the SRT4 all depending on launch..... With any type of mods the SRT4 will beat you...& convincingly at that...I went to an autocross that was Dodge SRT sponsored (local club)...and the SRT4's that were properly setup were VERY fast...but not one of them beat Joe Dyers SC GTS automatic putting down 440whp...I think he had the 2nd best time that day to boosted miata...
Since you say your brother can't drive....invite him to a track day and compare lap times.....tell him that drag racing is "beneath" your 928's abilities since the the road is rarely flat and straight....life is full of ups-down and corners....so a proper sports car should be able to handle everything....
On a real track...drivers skill will beat more powerful (by a silly margin) cars every time..... It was fun chasing down newer more powerful Porsches in my stock 8S4...but I gotta admit is MORE fun chasing down even faster "real" sportscars in a gutless miata.....the look on the corvette owners face is priceless when you are glued to his bumper in the turns....& straightaway speed is correlated to how soon you can get back to WOT....in good handling cars you can get back on the gas sooner, which makes them seem more powerful then they really are....

That video was to much! That srt4 blew by that 14sec car like it was standing still and it was't the launch. If that was me doing 144, I would have gone to jail and I would have lost my liscense for a long time. Had a freind that was caught driving to many times on a suspended liscese. 3 is a felony in the state of fl and he got a judge in a bad mood, got a year and a day in state prison....Fla doesn't play they make money this way!
Moral of the story, if you blow by a cop at 144mph, floor it, take the next exit and try to lose him....it's really not that hard with that big of a jump on him but it isn't for the faint of heart as you will feel like you are going to have a heart attack in the process.....or at least that is what I am told!

When you step on the loud pedal you change a simple speeding ticket into a felony, and if the cop gets hurt trying to catch you it could mean life in prison, and a speeding ticket is not worth the chance of being the cause of a LEO hurting himself or some one else.

Swaybar's opinion is probably not popular. But he is right. You either have to accept that the cars are simply older, quite cool, but not in any way fast in a straight line, or really that good at turning corners.... as they came stock - and drive them - or take them apart totally and revamp the pieces that you choose to, with a mind to outclass MODERN cars 4 times the price of the 928 when it was new.

Drifting
It doesn't take much to upgrade the handling because the basic package is so dam good.
I have experienced some quick cars and still find my euro to be very competitive for a street car.
Some impressive numbers for any car of any age

In fact, at least two 928s ran there.
In December 1982, a stock 928 S made 3700 miles (5953.3 km) in 24 hours (average speed 155 mph <-> 249.39 km/h).
In 1993, a stock GTS made 3962.66 miles (6377 km) in 24 hours (average speed 165.11 mph <-> 265.72 km/h).
Not so bad...
