I have the new style wheel locks. No problems with them as I'm the only one that ever touches them and always with a torque wrench. I've had them on both my 928's for 9 years and in that time only once did I get a flat tire. Of course I didn't have the lock socket so I had to have someone bring it to me. The 18" Carrera III wheels fit many different Porsches (and VWs too) and look good, so I would not be surprised if they were targets of a wheel theft.

I love them!!!!!
Every 928 owner that I have purchased a car from has lowered the price - because the tires were bald and they couldn't get the darn wheel locks off.

Took 'em off in '95 when I bought the car.

Much more trouble than they're worth.

Ditched mine on every 928, I don't have 28" chrome wheels so I doubt I need to worry about them being stolen.

I have locks... no guarantee that anyone who is dumb enough to steal is smart enough to know the wheels won't fit anything else. Never had an issue, but then again I have anti-seize on the threads and I always use a torque wrench to tighten, and I have my tires mounted by a shop that doesn't use air tools on lugnuts.

They were on my car when I bought it. Wouldn't buy them myself. But they're not on the list of things to change out either.

So is it worth it to use them? Depends on whether or not you're paying for them. I use 'em cause I got 'em. But wouldn't go out and buy them myself.

I lost the keys to mine and a tire shop got them off in seconds with a simple set of tools made for this kind of thing and rounded lug nuts. Thieves can buy these tools too.

Replaced mine years ago. Saving the locks and key for the next fool.

Sure, I still use my wheel locks. They are decorating one of the drawers in my tool chest.

I never replaced the lugs underneath with normal lugs and haven't noticed any balance issues, but will probably buy 4 standard lugs soon just to even things out.
