Headlight Motor Arm E clip 900 116 009 01
Part number 900 116 009 01 is the small E clip that holds the headlight motor arm to the motor. Two are required. If they are missing there is a good chance that the arm will come of the spindle and penetrate the radiator with costly and time consuming results.
This part has been out of stock at Porsche for a long time but I finally tracked down 100 of them at a dealer ship.
Once the dust has been removed they are $1 each. I probably have enough to last me 10 years but at least they are available.
Let me know if you need them.

Burning Brakes
The guy working the counter was busy on the phone and just let me have them rather than get off the phone to ring up two clips.

Roger,
The Auto transmission linkage clip works much better for this application. I ordered a few from you last year for this. They won't ever come off, and seem to be a no-brainer.

Roger I second the suggestion to use the trans snap clip instead of the E clip , you might consider stocking up and please send me 6 of them if they are less than a 1.50 each. Thanks Stan

reposting from the other thread....
I used locking clips which are also used on the automatic's shift lever.
Porsche P/N: 999.166.005.02, sl-lock
But in the case of my 90' S4, I needed to modify the nylon bushings slightly. It’s a good idea to remove the linkage anyway and apply a new coat of white grease.
After removing the old clips, washers, the linkage comes off without any movement of head lights.
I used medium grit sand paper to sand down the nylon bushings which are slightly too thick to accommodate the new clips. You can cut the sheet of sand paper in half. One side up the other side down on a flat surface and sand until the thickness is about 8.25mm. Mine measured 9.00mm on removal from the car. I went down to 8.00mm, but 8.25mm is probably just right.
Assembly is easy. Once installed make sure you have the clip properly locked on. With them locked on, you should be able to rotate the clip with just your fingers, otherwise its probably not on all the way.
