If you do not see me in "Ruby" I am dead and gone, but please say hello to my wife or son who will be behind the wheel.

I plan to stop driving the GTS when either the police come with a document from the state of PA indicating I am no longer capable of safe driving, or when the undertaker pries the keys out of my hands. The '89 S4 track car - on the other hand - I'll probably quit driving when I start to feel my age. Thought that would be 2 years ago when I turned 70, but it hasn't happened YET!!

Jim's right - you should explain that you don't replace things just because they're older...

No, you just pay $$ for parts to stop them sagging

What I would really like for a car if I was to replace the 928 would be
997TT with PDK,when the time comes the 928 will go up for sale or maybe sooner.
0-60 3.1 to 3.2 with chrono
0-100mph in 7.0 seconds (wonder what distance 1/8mile waiting for further test onthe car)
Check out the article on the new Turbo car
http://www.autocar.co.uk/CarReviews/...-Turbo/243959/
Now that is all around performance for a street car.
All wheel drive and launch control it will hook up and leave hard 0 to 100 in 7.0 seconds

To answer the OP - I currently intend to have at least one 928 for many years to come.

Not the same 928 as there's so many variations on the theme - I'd like to have owned decent examples of 78/79 4.5L, '80-83 S, '85 4.7L S2, '86 5L S3, GTS, Clubsport/SE (shoulda bought the silver SE I was sniffing around a few months ago dammit).

Of course, I'd also like to own a Ferrari 12 cylinder (456, maybe 512tr or m).. so ask me again once I've got both

Probably not. I've already set my sights on a Ferrari, most likely a Mondial. I'd like to be in one within the next 6 months or so.

I'll replace my 928s with a Panamera in 5 years - VW will stop making them like Porsche killed the 928 and prices will hit the floor.

j/k about the 928's - I'll definitely keep them and maybe add a few more - not kidding about the Panamera though - i'll be looking for one in about 5 years at a ridiculously low price.

I have purchased new and driven 3 928 cars for 30 years. Since I bought them new, I can have any car I want and believe me my wife has spent much more over the years on her vehicles.

I am not fickle. Married CarChick almost 20 years ago and have not the slightest itch to trade. Same for the 928(s). Got one and another and another because we wanted them.

Although, I may decide to cut back by one. Three is almost one too many. The '89GT or the '94 Iris Blue 5-speed might go. The keys to the '91 will be super-glued to my dying right hand such that they cannot be pried-out.

I plan on keeping mine unless I can find someone who will trade me for a 65/66 Mustang Fastback. Had one of those a few years before I got the 928 and regret letting it go.

You won't have any problems selling that car in the future if you need to! I'd only ask that you call Darin (the previous owner) if you decide to sell it! He might be ready to get back in to the 928's again by then. Saw him last week. Nice but all to short a visit!

Oh, I can't imagine NOT having a 928 in my garage...
