Dye to sample Leather Color matching
Where is the best place to pull a sample of my leather to use for color matching?

Colorplus is where I am going. I have the rear seats out and going to be taking a piece from the underside after I rub off the excess glue.
I am dying all the seats, rear console and rear seat belt surround. How much dye do I need?

Cashmere to cashmere - though the Porsche certificate says it was dye to sample

I did my front seats with the smallest size (8oz) and had some left over. so front and back 16 oz should be sufficient. I ordered their Stock porsche burgundy and the color match was absolutely spot on. I noticed they have cashmere for a stock porsche color on the website. Do you have a different cashmere?

I cannot tell if their Porsche Cashmere is the same. Holding my sample up to the monitor shows a big discrepancy. 16 oz it is then.

I pulled some light tan-colored leather from inside the A-pillar trim. This gives the original color and the match to this sample was right on (Leatherique). I wanted to dye just seat bolster and armrest. Unfortunately, my intact leather panels had darkened with use and exposure so the dye did not match these. I had to dye a little more to make the transitions less noticeable. If I were to do it again, I would try to darken the sample with shoe polish or something to get a perfect match to the rest of my used leather, before I sent it for color matching.

What a conundrum!
I've been there. Interior was "dye to sample" but it looks really like Porsche Dark Brown. Where to get the sample to match? Someplace that's never seen the sun or wear so it doesn't match the rest of the interior that you can see.
I went with just getting stock Dark Brown from Leatherique. Not bad compared to the original custom pieces, which are a different shade, and it matches well to the grab-bag of other parts and the Mr. Budd leather dash and glovebox covers I've sourced to restore the interior.

I sent a swatch from under the driverside rear seat to Color-Plus.
I plan on doing the seats - front and rear, rear seat belt covers and rear console.

If you dye that much of the interior, any minute mismatch will probably be undetectable.
Best of luck, I think you will be amazed. Just go through all the cleaning and preparation steps and allow lots of time for drying and curing of the final coat.
