What Did I Break??? Update - Fixed
So I'm in the middle of changing my spark plugs and I was pulling the last wire closes to the passenger side fire wall. In the process my hands pushed into this plastic piece and broke it loose. It appears to be part of the air pump system but I have no idea what the function is and if the part will operate correctly with out it.
In the first picture if you look closely you will see a white arrow I drew in showing the loose piece. Apologies for my poor photoshop abilities.
Anyone able to help?

Thanks guys, much appreciated. Anyone know if the vent can be replaced without buying the entire assembly?

I believe so or you can just eliminate the system entirely.
I threw out the air pump system some years ago now; I probably have the valve in the parts bin if you want.

If anyone has one they're not using please send me a PM. I have no problem paying for shipping and a reasonable price for the part.
I would definitely eliminate the pump as many others have but my goal is to keep it 100% stock.
Thanks again guys, very much appreciated.

Malcolm thank you for the offer. Paul PMed me and offered his if he can find it. I will send you a PM if he can't find his.
Anyone know if I will damage the system if I drive the car the way it is now? Just curious if I need to keep it parked until its fixed.
Never fails, fix one thing and break another

First thank you everyone for helping me and offering a replacement part.
Last night I spent some time reviewing the engine bay pictures I took when I first purchased the car. After going through a bunch of them I finally found one that showed the missing part. Tonight after I finished installing the drivers side plugs I searched for the white plastic cover with no luck. I fired up the car to make sure I didn't mess up the plug install and I decided to search for the white cover again after I shut off the car. I couldn't believe it! I found it sitting on the undertray within easy reach of my fingers. I looked at it and then looked very closely at the metal housing. After messing around with it for a few minutes I discovered that the plastic sits inside of the metal housing in a groove and its a press fit. So I pressed it in using a screw driver and viola! Very relieved that I could fix it without disassembly.
Paul if you're up for it we can keep the plans for Sunday. I'll send you a PM.
