Dave and Jeannie,

Thanks for the apology.

I do not want to discredit anybody. But the fact is that the information in the screendump is a result of my numerous attempts to reach You, by mail, by phone and by filling in the contact form on Your website.

The information did not come until prompted for several times. Just dead silence. And that is what bothered me.

I understand that You're left to the mercy of Your suppliers, but at least You could drop a note of a part being out of stock or a delayed delivery. In this case I asked for a delivery date 2 weeks after the order was placed, and the website was updated with "mid July" (see the screendump). By the end of July when the order still showed "Not yet shipped", I tried to reach You several times, without response.

The parts are on their way now, and I appreciate that the shipment was expedited.

I could have accepted a leadtime of 1 or 2 or even 3 months, as long as I got timely and reliable notification of such delays. This is how most people react to expectations. There is no magic in it. And bumping up the shipment wont always cure a "sore throat".

6mil928, You are excused for Your comment as You only had partial information to base Your reaction upon. I cannot see that I have done anything wrong apart from being a customer that didnt receive timely service, and I have shared this experience with my fellow rennlisters.

I know how you guys LOVE to say pick up the phone and while I agree with that, you got a guy in New Zealand here, even that aside, if you sell on the internet then there is no reason shouldn't have just as good communication through email. If you only want a phone call, only take orders through phone call. This particular thread was even thought out good enough to not even mention the vendor
Im glad Dave was here and saw the thread and handled this ASAP, that is why we love our 928 suppliers!
great job and the swift reclamation Dave

Not sure what you are getting at here Gretch. I like Dave and Jeannie a lot.... Hope you don't think otherwise. I also sent you a PM this morning to take this offline. I guess you didn't get it.

Our e-mail records show a slightly different story of communication from just a quick search concerning your order(see screen shots below). Our website database records also show your online account was updated at the same time as the e-mails. BTW, I count 3 apologies from Jeannie in those 3 e-mails :-).

This contradics your original statement:

BUT, the customer is always right and once again we apologize. Your order was still not shipped when it should have been but we could only relay info we were given by the supplier. AND IMHO, any order that is not handled in the utmost timely manner makes me unhappy, no matter what the reason, or who is at fault.

Jeannie and I have been serving and supporting the 928 community for almost 12 years exclusively (and even longer before 928 Specialists), It is not a "hobby", a a "second job" or even a fun thing to do in retirement, it is our full time life that puts the food on our table and in Thor's bowl and sometimes keeps the lights burning. We are far from perfect, but we do care and support the 928 community the best we can. Sometimes Life, Health, and Family issues keeps us from being as perfect as we would like to be, but it is never from lack of caring. In the end we are just 2 mortal human beings running a small niche market Mom and Pop business the best we can. I will be the first to admit that sometimes it isn't good enough for everyone, and sometimes it isn't even good enough for me. BUT when it is isn't and is brought to our attention we will always try even harder to make it right.

Oh, and Tim, those pics are in your Inbox. :-)

On that note, I had no idea they had donated so much to the OCIC event. When someone won a Provent......I about crapped myself. I would have prayed harder for that prize if I knew it was for the giving.

Dave and Jeannie gave away several gift certificates for $$ and Equipment. The pro-vent was awesome.

It is not a different picture, it is exactly the same picture. No information until prompted for. And then the information doesnt prove to be correct, although that may be beyond Your control. Thats wheen I would like to see information to adjust my expectations. Unfortunately we cannot see the number of unanswered phonecalls I made. Maybe I am just too impatient. I am not trying to miscredit You guys.

I appreciate Your efforts and Your service and with our out-of-production cars with an age of 2 or 3 decades Your business is of high value to all of us in here.

I have bought stuff from You earlier and will probably do that again. But I feel an urge to let this out when the issue is open.

Hi Sean,

Thank you very much! We are still sorry we didn't make it in person!

BTW, it was a complete SharkVent system, not just a ProVent.. AND I was blown away yesterday when I found out who won it...none other than Louie Ott!!! When he called and told me that I almost feel out of my chair... WAY TOO COOL!!!!

Ragnar,

No you are or were not being impatient, like anyone you deserve prompt perfect service and obviously you didn't get from us this time.

I don't remember calling you a name on here I guess you mean over at

http://www.reutterwerk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=69

If it had not been for the charter there would have been a whole lot more names attached to later posts. It's a real shame that we didn't meet at the OCIC Oh wait there's was no guns there so I guess I shouldn't have expected you to be there.

IB can you add this guy to my ignore list?
