Default Harbor Freight Clearence

Okay, maybe it's the X chromosome in me, but Harbor Freight is running a little known clearance sale right now. Many items are just a penny… that’s it one cent.

I picked up a handful of metric hex/allen wrenches, ear plugs, and a few other misc items for a penny.

Then there a bunch of junk under a dollar, like 5 lb of steel wool for $.86, a box of 4 inch gringing wheels for $.50, 6” level for $.44, plastic calipers for $.89, you get the idea.

Another example were these 12” power snips for only $1.86 and the replacement blades were a penny. http://search.harborfreight.com/cpis...ord=power+snip

Just look for the yellow clearance signs… they really don’t stand out much so it’s kind of like hunting Easter eggs and supposedly this is going on Nationwide.

Also, they still have the 20% any single item still going.

Where are you finding these yellow tags?

Here is where I originally got the idea:

Another good place to track HF deals:

To find yellow tags, I just walked up and down the isles and looked carefully. Many of the one cent items were gone. A few that weren’t were because the price tag had flipped up when someone took off items. I would say there were probably one cent items every ten feet or so and probably 10 to 20 clearance items per row (some deals better than others).

I spoke to an employee and this was a corporate directive to get rid of some old inventory. Some items are being replaced with the exact same stuff, just different product numbers so you have to what the numbers closely.

I bought six $3.99 metric hex key set for $.06… just like this one:

Hi Brett, sorry about your luck… actually, I was surprised there was anything left when I got there. I heard the mandate went out on Tuesday, but they were a little slow getting all the pricing tags out. I’ll sell you a metric hex key set for a nickel… that would net me a 500% profit!

However, now my car smells like HF... you know the smell... it's like a mixture of lead based paint, diesel fuel, and gear oil... very distinct. The price we have to pay for cheap tools.

The guy at the checkout counter said the employees pretty much grab as much of the .01 stuff as possible.

There's got to be some benefit to making $8 an hour...

Gonna hit it today and see if any crumbs are left.
