I like RKD's version better, would would it look like with hands shaped like the pointers on the 928 gauge set and colored that same orange/red?

Possible to the have the rest of the numbers on the dial as smaller font and muted color/shade?
Feels a little unbalanced to my eye with just the '9' '2' '8'.

That's nice. Good use of the hash's between the #'s. Good suggestion.

Edit: The 5, 6 & 7 look a little out of place though.

Default MORE Watches

Ok guys, let me see if I can answer a few ???? here...

I like having marks of some kind for the numbers...that is just me. I prefer NOT to have all the numbers though, but I DO like the tach style hash marks! VERY COOL!

I also like the pointer needle style hands (just hoping we can keep them that color and size and make them glow orange/red)...

I like the white "!" and was thinking maybe to put it on a small red background just like the button on the S4's and earlier cars...

The case is 42mm diameter, about 6mm thick, Swiss automatic movement (ETA as I recall, can't remember which one right now), case is Stainless Steel and the band is leather, though I am sure our watch guy could change that out for the right price... I have a black and a brown leather band on my two watches from this company and like both of them...

Here are the most recent renderings. I am glad we have come this far I am digging the look really.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. This is not ultimately going to make EVERYONE happy, but I hope it will be something everyone will want to have and be happy to live with!

BTW, it will NOT say commererative and even it is did it would be spelled properly! LOL!!!

I am pushing for 928 special edition or just 928 or NOTHING down there (maybe he makers logo...if it would save a few bucks! LOL!)

I LOVE the "commemerative" version, simple and elegant, kind of Movado-like. Count me in if you pull this off.

I like the tach look that RKD mocked up too ..but IMO the watch doesn't "look" like a $500 watch... Yea..I'm cheap...but if you could get a cheap chinese replica for $50...with that look...I bet you would sell a whole bunch of em ...

I love the tach look - except it's not as unique as the last one posted by James.

There are already tach watches (I have two somewhere) out there. Yes I know not 928 specific.

Just the 9 - 2 - 8 numbers is very different. Just being picky, I like every style posted so far.

Yea, I like the less is more approach and I can tell you guys that this dial mock up stuff will not do justice to the real thing. This maker is AWESOME! I love the crystals, and any SERIOUS watch guy is going to want the automatic swiss movement not a $50 POS that will break in a month. A wicked exhibition back would make it even MORE COOL I think.

I like all the designs so far too, but I want to keep it a little more simple so probably not gonna have all the numbers and probably not the tach look, but we will see. I'd rather have some kind of cool "!" than the tach... I have NEVER seen another car with a "!" button in it and that would be a real stand out for a 928 watch.

Thanks for all the support guys...these watches look GREAT in the flesh and if they do half as good a job on the 928 watch as they do on their regular stuff, you guys will LOVE IT!

RKD, you are photoshop crazy man! I appreciate all your work on this too!

I thought this was an interesting idea. What can beat your own car on your watch?

Well, we are closing in on this thing... Here is a bit more info...

The run will be limited to 150 pieces in total...

A special box and band (different from the already nice box and band normally associated with this manufacturer) will be on tap for us. The band is going to be something along the lines of the Ball Fireman II band, so you can look up Ball watches and see what we are talking about there.

Normal price for this watch (ie. the case, movement) is $495, and the dealer is going to make it available to those of us here in Rennlist for that same price or REALLY CLOSE (think $525 or less). What does not sell here will be marked up to a retail of $695...

So, we are going to get a nicer than standard version of a very nice watch in limited numbers with special band and box, limited to 150 pieces, for the price of the run of the mill automatic normally sold! SMOKIN' DEAL! Thank goodness the dealer is a HUGE 928 fan or this never would have happened.

Here is the latest thought...I would like to do the white part of the Tach as well just because it will be kind of hard to ACTUALLY TELL THE TIME on this watch w/o some of those other land marks...

What say you guys?! Personally I LOVE the "!" on the red "button"...that is SOOOO 928! Oh, I personally prefer the hands to be the same color. I don't mind if the sweep second hand is different, but the hour and minute hand I prefer to be the same color and shape and I like the idea of them matching the pointers in our cars!
