That is AWESOME!! Love it!! And my vote is superlumi on the hands even if the result isn't the red pop color. Personally I read my watches in the dark all the time and having glowing hands is a definitely plus. Chris let us know as soon as you are formalizing the orders, looks GREAT!!

I just got the watch and put the strap on it.
It is hard for me to photograph this watch correctly at home.
This is the best I can do tonight. I will have better luck with natural lighting
I can say, it looks MUCH better in person, even the redline colors.
This is a tough decision to go with red markers or the current markers.
The more i look at this watch, the more I like it the way it is.

I'm going to put my vote in as preferring the more brilliant color to the "lumi" orange prototype. Like others here, I see it and instantly think "washed out" or an older watch that has lost some pizazz. I don't mean any offense and I appreciate all the efforts; just my impression.

I've been checking in on this thread occasionally. But quite frankly am to lazy to go back through 710 posts. So what is one of these watches exactly going to cost?

If you are in on the first order $595 which includes an extra band if I recall... They are automatic swiss movement with an exhibition back. 100 only and the run is over. After the first run the price will be $749 or something like that...I think that is the price of the NON-custom version of this watch, so we are getting a real deal here for sure!

I saw the watch in person today, so I will give you my subjective opinion.
First, I liked it in the pictures to start, but in person it looks even better. I saw it in the store, and it was brought out from the back. A lady who was just shopping kept sneaking looks to see what was the big deal, and finally she asked about the watch. She loved it, and was even more impressed that it was a custom limited edition.
I understand the concern of some that the watch doesn't "pop" enough. Conversely, I was more concerned that it would be too over the top and a little "cartoony".
No way, this piece is understated enough to really reflect its German origins, but unique and well designed. It holds its own next to most of the watches in the case below it. I think too much contract screams for attention, and my taste calls for something both refined and unique, and this piece does it for me.
I do think it is a tough decision between the "red line" area hashes between non glowing red and lumo orange. I do like the red stitching on the band less with the hands and "red line" hashes orange.
I am sure all this will be worked out, and I look forward to getting the watch on my wrist!

After looking at both. The first one with the brilliant colors looks like a new watch. After looking at the watch that Chris has; it has that subtle quality that defies description. Sorta like when your in the presence of "old money"; like our cars. The "shark" isn't new, neither is a Dusenburg, but both radiate something that can't be duplicated. It's called CLASS. That is the one I prefer. Thanks Chris, Joe

Hmmmmmmm..... still looks washed out. The faded pastel orange color of the SuperLumi really is incongruent with the rest of the watch. Is that the only color/hue of SuperLumi. I think if you can get it in pure white, that would be preferable. If we can get closer to the original design colors with a lesser luminescence then I would be for that. The red is not near the same shade as the thread on the watch band. It was the way all those colors played off of one another that made the original design, I'll use that word again, "pop".
Don't mean to sound like a party pooper, but asthetically I am not as pleased with this first sample.
Might be useful to tell us what is possible in regards to getting the colors closer to the orginal design and what the trade-offs are, then post up another poll so we can get a majority opinion.
I and everyone else here recognize the extraordinary efforts that have been extended to make this awesome watch a reality. I just really want to be excited and pleased everytime I look at it instead of thinking "I sure wish the colors matched better". It is a lot of money not to be completely happy. Maybe I'm the only one that thinks so. If that is true then a poll would certainly indicate so.

If the hands are a little on the “orange” side, I don’t care!
I would like the “tach” side to be red though; maybe the “minute” marks red and the “five minute” marks could be orange for the “glow” effect.
I think the second hand should only be a “dot” or perhaps a line smaller than the minute marks (both “top and bottom”), as the “white line” through the face degrades it immensely.
If this is the BEST the GERMANS can do, I am … VERY … DISSAPPOINTED … and can do without this watch!
AFTER ALL, THEY DID BUILD OUR CARS, DIDN'T THEY? !!!!!
I have never spent more than $39.95 on a watch in my life, but, I am willing to spend $595.00 on this one ….. If, it is done properly!
PS ... Edit ... More POSITIVE thoughts ...
Let me add …. I do appreciate all the work everyone has done … and truly hope this effort goes through … and, I ultimately want to own one of these SPECIAL EDITION watches, BUT, it must be “absolutely right”, for me to spend that much money on a watch!
I’ll try to be patient and have faith in those “spear heading” this project, along with the Germans, to bring it to fruition!

I'm afraid the new pictures didn't help the situation for me at all. I am not digging the pale orange at all. In my view, it does look washed out, does not follow the original design idea of the tach. and the bracelet no longer goes with the color scheme of the face.
So much work and effort as been done already. We are 99% there. Let's not waste this great idea and fantastic design by not taking care of the last details.

I don't think its the colors so much as the photos. Lets let Chris post some better pictures tomorrow, Forget that. Tomorrow is a holiday. Lets take our time and view the pictures over the weekend. And then give an honest opinion, if we like the way the watch looks or what needs to be changed.
