No kidding...Little bit huh? WOW! Dan, I won't put you down for one then ok...
When you have a friend that is a jeweler who is working specifically with a watch manufacturer that already does lots of custom jobs, then you CAN in fact get stuff like this done. They can do a mock up of a dial in 24 hours, not the real thing the digital version of it that will be exactly what the real deal looks like.
So, we will see. This jeweler (nor I) want to be stuck with 50+ watches we have to pay for so for those who are interested lets get with it... Oh, the jeweler is a 928 owner and comes to this site from time to time as well, so he also is a fan who wants to see this happen...

How about having a 9, a 2 and a 8, at the ends of the hour, minute, second hand. I think that means only once an hour all the hands will align and say 928....

I doubt anyone else thought the comment "Can't wait to see that noname gem" was even a bit funny.
I voted, that's the only info he needs from me.

My thoughts are to keep the design befitting the 928, classic & unique, but not too cluttered or overdone. Keep the Porsche references or logo off to avoid any problems with trademarks. And something that any 928 owner can relate too, whether the owner has an OB, a GTS, or something in between. If your friend the jeweler is also a 928 owner, that's promising that he can relate to what most would want in styling a suitable watch to match a 928 & their owners.

Was thinking about having the 928 nose outline on the watch face.
Then remembered that there's 2 different noses.
The commonalities of the 928 seem to be the distinct door.
And maybe the 928 flat dish that lots of people hold in disdain.
The flip-up headlight is cool. But probably wouldn't be distinct enough for a watch face logo.
An overhead view of the 928 may be cool. (Brings back the S vs S4 silhouette fight)
Just some rambling thoughts.
Is the watch case going to be made from melted down S4 intakes?

If it's going to fitting of the 928 design.. I think you will have to go beyond the face of the watch ..and do some really cool stuff with either the shape of the watch, the band ...ergonomics etc... As with the 928..its not how it looks..but rather how it functions .. Interested in seeing what comes of this go round....the alien head one..was ..well...blah...

As for using the crest, assuming you do get caught (and I'm sure you would) their first step is a cease and desist order. So if we limit this to one production run...........

Think if you want the man hole covers, you should have that be the back of the watch, not on the face. Most wanna get away from the look of those wheels. I know I don't want to be seeing them every time I look at the watch, but think it'd be neat to have the back cover look like em in honor of the original designs associated with the 928.
