I have a small watch collection and use a Breitling B2 for daily wear... here is my WWII German pilot's watch (40mm without crown; 50mm with crown) made by a company called 'RELLUM' (I think it was from an occupied France company) -although it closely resembles one from Zenith (35mm):

I know...

Barry, I like your design there.... If this first one goes over I could see us doing a second one more like what you have shown! Please hold on to that design...we might need it later!

Also Mark, I did not say who the watch maker was... Was not ready to divulge that info lest someone be lurking and waiting to jump in with them before we had an opportunity to get our stuff on the radar with them. We have not got our stuff together so I am willing to mention them and offer a pic of the watch I have. Keep in mind our watch will only have the case and movement (and maybe crown) of the "normal" watch from this maker, but we will have a different band...

Actually I am not going to post a pic, but if you scroll up to one of Barry's first pics (it even shows the exhibition back!) and look at the 42mm Laco...you know who we are working with! I am wearing one of theirs RIGHT NOW! LOVE THEM!

James... I got the idea of a sub seconds dial from my own WWII pilot watch (above)... I wish I could research the serial number to find out information on the original owner!

Also, I think the company called Debaufre (tied in with Steinhart I think) offers the larger 'diamond' crown as shown on their 48mm Limited Edition for only $25 extra. From what I have seen in this thread, it may be so popular an option to warrant that every watch in the run has it... just a thought!

If you notice on the Laco, it shows a date window at 3 and the Tourby has a sub seconds dial at 9. I would think that having the sub seconds at the 6 would be fairly easy for a manufacturer to do... it shows at about 5-5:30 on my rendering, but it doesn't need to be that big either.

Barry, we are hoping to get a 928 Piston as the crown, but we will see what can be done. I actually like the stock Laco crown myself, so I would not mind just seeing that on this watch.

Keep watching this space. We will have updates as we get them from the manufacturer.

UPDATE:

Germany has the face that we have come up with here and some money to get cracking on this project, so we are 95% go on this thing. I would say that last 5% is the remote chance we won't like the prototype, but we have seen a lot of stuff from this company that is AWESOME, so I am guessing we will be full on and looking for deposits VERY SOON!

Keep an eye on this place and if you have friends that are not here but are fans of 928's and wrist watches this will be THE PLACE to come to get yours!

I am a Breitling Fanatic but would love a 928 watch. Let me know what the options are when you have them all ironed out.

When I sent the final face graphics I thought I heard two weeks. Maybe that's just wishful thinking

Here is MY rendering using the higher resolution face graphic I was asked for them to make the proto from...

Probably just wanted to make sure they had a better silhouette to work from than the low res stuff I was spitting out for our brain storming.
I understand they are also creating custom hands and crown for this watch.

ditch the car profile at the bottom. The watch already says 928 with the numerics.
less is more

Tony,

Sorry about that, but the silhouette will be staying... I LOVE IT!

I think we are supposed to see their rendition in a week and if approved a full on prototype two weeks later.
