928 Wrist watches

Guys, for those that did not know, RKD (Richard) died on February 12th 2021. He was a good friend of mine and we lived withing a mile of each other. We ate lunch together weekly for 15 years or so.
Richard's family has tasked me with selling his watches. All proceeds will go towards planting trees and a donation will be made to some charity or organization that plants trees. I will not make one dime. As this is my first post I have no background with anyone. Just go to Pelican and look for my same user name. I am a long time regular there. I am only using this forum to pass the watches to interested 928 owners.
First off is Richard's Laco 928 watch #94 of 100 never worn, with the metal band and two leather bands, all in the box, and paperwork included. I also have his worn one #32 and the band still need repair, but it has two spare leather bands.
Two to the Seiko watches, new in the box.
Also one of the Seiko watches that Richard wore with no box and a cloth band. and One Porsche Design watch, with no paperwork or boxes. It too was worn often by Richard. So 6 total watches. Three brand new, three are worn, but all in good shape.

That is a good question. I just want a fair market value for them. I figure several people will chime in and add opinions as to the value. I don't want to give them away, but I don't expect to wait a year to get top dollar.

I'll gladly pay $500 for one of RDK's. I sent you a PM
The Seiko faces were $35 then the cost of the Seiko watch

- I think this is the style?

Those watches are great. I don't really need another watch, but I would like to donate to the "tree planting account" if one exists.
Maybe a paypal account ?
Thanks,
Best wishes to the family and friends,
Dan

Condolences to his family. I have the Laco with both bands & the Seiko and two spare dials. I'm pretty sure the Laco ended up at $850 with the black band & another $100-$150 for the stainless band. I'd think that Chris at Valencia Time Center 4198vtc would be the Authority on the values for all of these yes?
Here's part of an ad on his web site back when that lists the Laco for $749 with the black band, & somewhere I have a copy of the ad that ran in Pano too that I'll post if I can find it.

The Porsche Design is probably around $500 maybe more depending on serial #, which would provide a little more information. There is a white faced one on E-Bay listed here. https://www.ebay.com/itm/33393452448...evt=1&mkcid=28
I would be very interested in buying it if someone hasn't already made an offer.

Here's the ad that Chris was running in some Porsche magazines for the Laco 928 watch back when. Looks like $749 was the going rate for the watch with the black band; with $150 more for the stainless band at $899. Main factor to consider though is both 928 watches were a one time only production run; Only 100 of the numbered edition Laco watches that Chris did; and then the one run of the Seiko watch face that Shawn Stanford did. So supply and demand is the driving force; how bad the buyer wants one versus how much the seller needs it to be sold. Again, I'd contact Chris at Valencia Time Center & see if he can give you some direction since that's what he does for a living & he did the Laco watches.

The market value of a Seiko 5 is $100, the dial was $35, and I think installation was $25. So: $160 is the base value of those Seikos.

Just an update. All the used watches have sold. All that is left is the Laco #94 and the two new Seikos.
The Laco should go for $800 and the two Seikos for $180 or so. All are new, with the warranty card. The two Seikos have the original face in the box so if you ever want to change the face back to stock that is possible. And just a reminder, I am not going to make a penny. In fact this is all costing me the shipping fees, as I am "eating" those cost just to make it easier to sell them. All the funds will go to some local charity that plants trees. Honestly, I have yet to determine what charity or non profit group will receive the funds. I know you guys don't know me from any other random low post count new person. I am a regular at Pelican as I have an 1985 911 and I post there regularly.
Send me a PM with an offer. If you want more photos I can provide them.
