This is a great watch. I'm saving for one. Excellent design vision and cooperation created it. Would make a very appealing Harvard Business Case regarding focused product development. Execs with graying hair at huge consumer products companies would die for this type of insight and cooperation within their marketing/R&D ranks. So difficult to translate consumer wants to actionable products.

Just think: if the subject had broad appeal across a wider enthusiast base, like "all mountain bikers" or "all hockey moms" it would reap a fortune.

Good work, guys. This may be the pinacle of collectables for 928s and it'll definitely make the other PCA guys take notice. Got great reviews when a friend showed one last week at our local breakfast.

Everyone has an opinion, but sometimes it's just more appropriate not to express it when it serves no purpose.

I have one of the watches and really like it. The beauty is found in the simplicty of the design. Sure with a fancy web site, 2 or 3 useless dials on the face, and a distracting and tacky band the watch could be priced at $3000. But, I for one, like watches that have simple designs. I only need one set of hands on the face with just one set of hash marks and numbers. I'm not timing laps at Monaco for Fernando Alonso, nor am I trying to impress his girlfriend with my blingy watch.

Commentary from a guy so proud to be a Porsche owner -he continuously has Ferraris & Astons as his avatar... really?!?

One would really need to see the watch in person (in daylight and no light) to fully grasp the appeal of this watch. The simplicity, the immediate recognition, the exclusivity, the size, the detail... all make the "Porsche Chronographs" with the model designator as the only "Porsche" element -look like the cheaper of the two.

Collectible watches generally have an implicit appeal that one cannot exactly put a name to... this watch has it in spades!
Real life got in the way for me to own one of these -or I'd be wearing one right now.

Ryan probably has no idea of what makes a collectible anything... hell, he probably thinks the helmet he wore in his 'short bus' days is a collectible!

Once you sell your 928, we all hope you enjoy the Ferrari & Aston forums -as your 'heart' never seemed to be with the 928 anyway.

Does it really even matter if someone doesn't like something and is rude about it? Not really, this site really isn't known for kind mannerisms.

Talking about watches is one thing; it’s talking about people when things really get ugly.

Folks, I have a suggestion:

Ryan, please go back and delete your posts over the last couple of pages. Personal opinion aside, your comments really were not helpful at this point, and you really did make it personal when you followed your "cracker jack" remark with "designed by committee". That's pretty insulting, and understandably those who participated in the design took that personally.

Then, once that is done, maybe the rest of the folks who responded would be happy to delete their comments also, and we could clean this thing up.

Does that sound fair?

Then, Ryan, if you would still like to express your opinions about this fine watch, how about starting a new thread with your comments. Then we can all jump in and turn that into a train wreck instead of messing up this nice thread.

Just a suggestion. It does seem like a real shame that this testament to a huge effort got trashed.

And for the record, I love my watch and tip my hat to the great committee that did so much work on it. Thank you all!!

I am not a fan of everything, nor is everything a fan of me. I am mindful of this in my everyday communication and use it in ways neither to offend others nor be overly sensitive of their comments about me. Life can be like a sine wave.
