Default Boston to SITM, stopping at top of BRP thursday pm:

For the 6th year in a row, our pilgrimage to SITM will leave June 4 thursday from rte 90 in MA and do all of Skyline drive about 5 pm thursday, stop overnight at Waynesboro and continue from mile marker 1 of BRP at 9 am friday to cruise on down to the Hotel at SITM that evening. We stop on the BRP for lunch around noon. Bring a 2 way radio for communication, and a reliable shark.

The hotel at Waynesboro:
Comfort Inn, 15 Windigrove drive, Waynesboro VA 22980
(540)932-3060
split a room to save $$$.

People either meet us on the way down from Boston, at the start of Skyline Drive, at the Waynesboro Hotel thursday night, or at mile marker 1 of BRP friday morning 9 am.

It's a good time, many of us have tools, fuses, relays etc. and by the time you get to SITM you have already had a great time.

The event of the year for the Northeast group!!! Such a great time with great people, and then our
"better half" Glenn M., John C., Martin, the Waynes, and many others do the BRP all day Friday!!

ps Carl check the time...9am seems late to start.

I'll be there. Think I found a new copilot. Variety is the spice of life.

Carl: Kind of ironic seeing the array of technology in the windshield - must not have been last year.

Nice. The last one was fine too. Good for you.

I have no doubt I was given a made-up number, it was 10 mph higher than my actual speed. Nothing you can do unless you are willing to hire a local lawyer down there, costing more than the ticket itself.

I am bringing the Dunkin Donuts coffee and a 12 cup coffee maker like last year... sharksters can see me in the morning for a caffeine fix.

I plan on being there unless I convince my wife to go. I feel bad as our 25th is the Wednesday June 2nd and the oldest graduates High School on May 30th. We have tried this before and the results were not good.
Maybe get the 18 year old to go, that might not be a good idea either.

I am pretty sure I will be in.

Anyone doing the same thing going back? Last year I drove stright back on 95 and it was a long drive. Boston is another 3 hours from NJ. I don't know how you guys do it. You must have buns of steel.

Put suntan lotion in empty Mobil 1 bottle.
Stash bottle in car.
Remember to label the special Mobil 1.
Then you don't have to remember.

I hope Dave C comes with us.
I did this same route alone in '04, and met up with Scott and Kempf on friday at mm1 of the BRP. It has been a group trip ever since.

Sorry. Gots to be the twin-screwed car this year. Wouldn't you be bringing your kidneys in any case?
