Joe,
Did State Farm ever go after the first engine builder for the money?
For those looking at this one, it's a great car. Everything done up first class.

I'm curious: How does one insure an engine rebuild?
It's a beautiful example but impractical in CA as anything but a track car. Even in a non-smog county, you've got to smog at change of ownership, and you'd pretty much need to own your own smog shop. It'd be tough to make it look stock enough to pass a visual. But everything looks absolutely top notch, and it would be a great car to own in a more relaxed emissions state.

So this engine rebuild kept the higher GTS compression? I'm curious to know how this build can work with 5.5 psi of boost, since even stock GTSes experience knocking with 0 psi...

Stock compression with the thicker head gaskets. Marc dyno tuned the car. No detonation.

I didn't dare ask if any had been recovered, jujst interested to see if they tried.
Last scuttlebutt has the perp driving a GT3 that his ex wants to get back. An 'investment' of some sort. I remember receiving an offer from a local dealer to sell me a GT3 option for $10k, buy price $110k, about two years to delivery on the first batch. Then the fine print said that the option couldn't be resold and they really didn't want the car to be resold either. INstead I bought stocks.

I have seen this GTS in person and seen it run at an autox......it just goes out there, rips a near top time of the day...then comes back to the pits, waits with the AC on...then goes out and does it again....makes it look WAY too easy
