Default 928RUS drilled rotors

I just finished the install on the 4 drilled rotors and rear big brakes and they were such a simple install I couldn't believe it! I took pictures and will post after I figure out how to reduce the pixel size.

the big calipers had to be tweaked by roger and they fit perfect!!

Those big reds look great on the back. Put them on Rogers car last week and they really stick out.

Congrats.

Sean.............I thought the rear calipers and rotors are all the same size S4 through GTS?

IIRC the GTS front rotors (304mm to 322mm) and calipers are bigger but the piston size remains the same.

.........and there is the $600 diff in price for the very RED paint

Malcom,
They are. They are talking about the rear big brake upgrade. I was looking at Jim's yesterday at our tech session and I would say the rears are at least as big as the S4 front brakes now, maybe even as big as the GTS front brakes. They look friggin massive!!!

ok............misread the first post.............need more Sun morning coffee.

Are there pics of the brake upgrade?

If the rear calipers are now ~S4 front size was there a change made to the fronts or the pressure regulator?

M,

There are pics of the upgrade that Jim Mayzurk posted a while back. He did not change his front brakes and he had already changed his bias valve IIRC.

I just tried to do a search for Jim's post and the search function is still wacked!

Jim, post pics if you get a chance or we'll just wait for Andy to do it. I will tell you this, it looks bad a**!!!

Here's the thread Chuck mentions..... I think? https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...ssistance.html

Is there any downside to this upgrade? Roger, you guys going to sell the caliper/rotor ready to install?

Chuck,
Yeah, page 4 has the pic of Jim's rears intalled, but I think Jim posted another thread prior to that. Wish I snapped some shots of his car yesterday!!!

As far as I know, Roger is now offering this setup. IIRC, both sets I saw at his place were machined to be plug and play. Roger can give you details for sure.

BTW Chuck, they will look great on the Blue GTS!!!

Thanks Chuck!

I searched Jim's posts and only came up with that one (I did stop looking though once I found that one).

I'll check with Roger.

I've had a set up "big reds/drilled rotors" for my GTS that I bought from DR about 8 years ago but just never installed them. I am getting ready to do it now and I agree the red will look great on a blue 928.

Yea, but your car is not BLUE! LOL! I think Yellow actually looks better with blue (and/or GREEN!) That is just me though...

I look forward to some pics as you make this happen Chuck! Hey, do you still have the BS? I love the way those cars look!

Yellow or green? Calipers? Seriously? ....just kidding. Until Porsche does colors other than black, red or silver (yellow w/ceramic...) I'll stick to red. Guess I'm just slow to change?

Yes, we still have the Black Series. Tried to sell but the market on those cars is so soft we decided just to keep it. What a beast of a car that thing is!

I purchased my cross drilled rotors from Roger as well for my GTS a year or so back. They were a clean swap for the GTS...and who says the calipers gotta be red

When I yank mine out, I'm going with yellow calipers.

The modification is putting "Big Reds" on the rear.
They are from a TT rear engined thingy - can't remember the name.
So the rears are as big as the fronts.
I noticed a differnce on high speed braking - they really make you kiss the windshiled.
Other than that its a case of mine are bigger than your Sterling 8>)
