Thanks for the replies. Chris, great to see there are some folks on here from Richmond! I have not heard of Delta V's before? My parent's used to go to Krynocks when I was younger but it looks like he is out of biz? Autohuas is on Hull street. I live on the South side. I called Euroclassics and they were crazy expensive. I will most likely be doing most of my own wrenching moving forward anyway. I was just too busy now and too impatient to wait to drive it.
As far as the paint goes...it is beyond claybar and buffing. I have a nice buffer and have brought back some pretty oxidized paints but this one is peeling in spots and is just too far gone. I will be doing the body work myself and having a local guy spray it for me. Just have to decide on the color. The color on it is growing on me.

The color of your shark is close to Sterlings' car (he's a member here you could find it easy w/ a search), check out what he's done, looks amazing on a 928. Of course he's spent huge bucks on his but you could maybe approximate it cheaper scaled to your own project.

Congrats on your purchase as well! Saw this one on craigslist last year-offered a little more than what you paid, but missed the chance due to a better offer. I was surprised to see it again on craigslist last week. Good luck. Did the PO fix/replace the front seats-I seem to remember them being really sun baked and ripped.

Congratulations, and welcome!
I am looking forward to seeing you and the car at Sharks in the Mountains. Let us know if we can help you.

just looked up "porkentensioner" and nothing came up???
Chris, the front seats are shot. I would love to get the new leather but I found some nice recaro knock offs that I will roll with for now. Do you remember anything else about the previous owner/info on the car. The guy that bought it did not have a whole lot of records and just changed the oil and drove it. So I am really trying to all the preventative maintenance now. Do you remember what the PO asking for it?? Really just curious about history. I am going to pull a carfax on it. Title and odo say 37k miles but I wonder if that is real. It looks as though it was stored outside in the sun for quite some time, because of the cracking of the seats dash etc.

Brown has always been my favorite color on the 928. Just my two cents, but I'd keep it that way. Great looking car, and it's great to know that another 928 is being taken care of. Nice find!!

Welcome. I love, 5spds, no rub-strips, OBs. Hard to find though. Congrats.
It's nice to have a really fine car, but the real fun and satisfaction is doing the work yourself. If your my age, it's even more fun doing the work with your kids helping. You can learn alot from these Rennlist guys and gals. I've never seen such a helpful group.
Just a suggestion, don't be in too much of a hurry. The fun is getting there. And just think how much you will know when you get your next 928?

81 5spd, no rubs, platin matallic
82 5spd, no rubs, black, comp pkg

that car was up for sale for about a year, I spoke to the gent after he posted on CL the 1st time and passed without looking at it in person (too much of a project for me at this time)
the mileage is NOT correct IIRC... I almost went back out after he listed it with a lower price (I think it was listed at $6k the 1st time) but I'm knee deep in a couple other cars so no dice
glad to see it went to someone who's going to fix it up
PS... he had sound bites on the original ad that sounding pretty mean
