When you were trying to sell them, did you refer to them as "sewer lids"? You might want to re-think that.

Mike,

I do like those wheels. Not exactly replica, but certainly phone dial style....

That's funny you mention that, I once saw those wheels on the A8 and thought the same thing. A larger version of the flat dish wheel. Sort of like Chip Foose and others do with muscle cars, , making a larger diameter modern interpretation of the original wheels...

I've got a set for my '87 S4 and I'll be taking off the ET65 Cup II's and putting the 16" back on it once I get around to buying new tyres for the 16" dishes.

Its for my DD, so I like that the 16" are harder to curb, ride slightly softer and are less theft-worthy. Plus they look good.. they suit the car

The set I have were on the way to the smelter, so I rescued them figuring I could make a buck or two. Maybe go toward an upgrade for my camera.

Would they be easier to sell as single replacements, rather than a matched set? Thanks

so why'd you pick a thread where they are being criticized to sell them? If you want to move them, start a new thread. Also put them in the classified section, since many 944 drivers like them.

Seems to be some positive feedback on them here too, perhaps it leads to helping find them a new home. While I couldn't stand to seem them go off to a smelter, I'm not planning on building a display case and keeping them to show my friends.

I picked up some wheel polish for them, going to shine them up nice and place a classified, as you suggest.

Thanks for inquiring.

Where you are offering items for sale you are required to post a price to start ... you can negotiate from there.

Oh, well thank you. I have no idea what they're worth, so I'm hesitant to insult anyone with a ridiculous asking price. I saw a couple sets went for $500 at one time or another on eBay and some cheaper, so I priced them @ $450. Yet, I also see a number of single wheels listed for outrageous prices. It also seems most I see for sale are the 16X7s, while I have two of the 16X8s.

As I stumbled upon two 928s with some decent parts, I'm looking to learn from this discussion board as it seems the best source for knowledgeable people.

I'm not a business, just a guy trying to raise a few bucks to replace a broken camera so I can get back to filming and photographing races.

Having my little garage sale is helping me keep this going: youtube.com/handyracing

Thanks
