How about if his post count works like the odometer in a 22 year old 928? For every post it registers 10,000.

Jim, sorry to hear you won't be with 928 intl. anymore, I hope it was on terms that were to your liking. I also hope you plan to use that lifer status to stick around here. You are one of the pillars of this forum and losing you would be a huge loss.

And instead of 'Addict' how about 'pusher'. He keeps trying to get everyone to try that track addiction of his. Once you give it a shot, I hear it's impossible to kick.

I have sent Bob a note asking him to make the changes..... mere covert mods cannot do it...............

I also vote for that. Who wants to start a new thread so we all can vote? And WYIT, add lifetime membership vote too, and let the people of rennlist choose.

Noone in their right mind could seriously think this wasn't a weighty decision for Mark.

The community owes a huge debt of thanks to both Mark and Jim, and many other talented people who've invested their time and money in supporting this very small niche.

I worry what it means for the state of 928intl in the current climate when hobbies are playing second fiddle to keeping food on the table and a roof overhead.

I make a point of spreading my purchases among the various 928-specific vendors - they all bring something different to the table and losing any of them would be a disaster for us enthusiasts.

edit: Thanks Bob for listening!

Again guys thanks for all the comments ......a guy I knew pretty well many years ago felt despondent and alone. He opted to shoot himself. At his funeral attended by over 200 people many said how much they appreciated and would miss Bruce. At the time I thought if only HE could have known how many friends HE HAD ! Good news is I am not dead I much appreciate the lifetime membership i plan to make the most of it ! Anytime you need to downsize a business start with the 350 lb man......

Jim has been a great asset to 928 International as well as the 928 community and will be greatly missed. It is a sad consequence of our current economy that has resulted in the layoff of some long term employees.
928 International has been in business for 20 years with a team of dedicated employees that have been providing parts and service and look forward to continue to do so.
Though you may not recognize the names, these individuals have been providing your parts and service and will continue to do so.

Let me introduce you to the team:

Pichai Boonruang has worked for me for more than 25 years. He started working for me when I managed an electronics company and helped me start 928 International. He has personally taken apart more than 600 928’s and is the hardest working person I have ever met. I cannot think of a person on this earth that has his experience with 928’s.

Tom Reichenberg has worked in Porsche parts and sales for 27 years He worked for the Porsche Dealer and owned his own Porsche parts business.
He has been with 928 International for 15 years

Lenny Gautier has worked here as our shipping and warehouse manager since 2002. Before that he worked for a wholesale Porsche part supplier for 35 years so he knows his Porsche parts and how to keep a warehouse organized.

Ronn Gottshcalk started off as an enthusiastic customer back in 1993 and helped us get our web store online in 1999. He has owned several 928’s over the years including a very nice 89 GT race car. Ronn has been doing our purchasing for years keeping our shelf stocked with what people need most so we can usually ship most parts the same day.

Renee Anderson (my wife) has run the office and always made sure there were funds available whenever I needed to buy a large quantity of overstocked parts or needed money to get a new supplier going on a new product. Most small business tends to have cash flow problems but my wife has always made sure that was not the case here.

In the last 10 years this team has provided over $20mil in 928 parts delivered around the world and has earned the reputation as the premiere 928 parts provider and I am confident that they will continue to do so.

Sincerely
Mark Anderson

Best of luck to you Jim B. I hope to hoist one with you some day, ideally at a 928 event.

Mark, Tom and all of 928 Intl. I wish the best to all of you as well. Definitely a first class operation there!

And best of continued success to you & 928 Int. too Mark! Its not easy running a small biz, no matter how long you've been around & especially in our current economy. You are indeed only as good as your people & it sounds as though you still have lots of good people.
