Default Damn Sunroof interior panel

Just venting. I've taken a dozen of these out of cars to fix the way the rear of the sunroof seals. Simple adjustment. Take out the 3 screws for the roof liner portion. Pull it out through the top. Close sunroof and adjust it.

Sure, the time I go to work on mine the damn thing is sticking on the the center push spring..........I have worked an hour to get this damn thing out and it won't come. It's hanging up on the back side of the by something....guessing material. I've slid a long screw driver in there to try and push the piece up....no go.

I think I'll have a beer and since I've vented in public it might work for me.

My own car has been giving me ****s the past week. Envious I suppose.

Hey, at least you've got yours. Some prior owner of mine managed to lose it!

Sean dont fret, its easy to remove the inner liner, First you only have to loosen the front 3 screws about 2 turns then the front portion is pulled down slightly.
Then with the sunroof open about 2 inches you should be able to slide your hand under the bottom of the panel and lift it a bit as you slide it forward.
There are 3 felt pads that will catch and stop forward movement, they are on the bottom rear edge of the liner if one of the springs is stopping things ( not really likely) then they can be pushed to one side or the other

Tried that a several times, I can feel the felt pad and have it off the roof liner. Something is holding it to the top section. Has to be the spring and can't seem to get my hands on it. Hmmm.

Still fighting this thing. I've tried sliding stuff in there to move that center spring around since I can't get my fingers on it. The felt pads are not holding in. I can move it side to side, front and back but can't pull it out all the way. Kinda frustrating.

Take a flat piece of plastic or thin sheet aluminum and slide it under the center spring it may be caught on the lining material so the headliner portion may need to be pushed back into the roof cavity to release it

Yup, been trying with a long spatula. Wife non too happy with me using kitchen stuff in the garage.

I can see the spring is catching the material on the liner. Problem I'm having is nothing long enough to get back that far....I'll find something...Thanks for the advice.

I'd have quite the savings if I would pay myself on my own cars. https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/drink.gif

I'll see that, and raise a GTS!

You do - in your own way.

Agreed, each time I take them out for a drive, can't beat that kind of payment.

Good luck on getting that GTS BTW. /envy

I learned years ago, the most effective tool in the box, is a 20 minute break.

For some strange cosmic reason, 90% of all impossibles become, not only possible but easy, during that brief hiatus. I no longer question it.
