Look at the hinge of the Ford Dually filler covers. It allows the door to come out parallel to the panel for an inch or so..then rotates. Get Thurston to take some pics for you..

Hi Louie, I'll forward your gun to you ASAP. Sorry for the delay, it got misplaced after the install was completed (hiding in a paperbag at Ken's shop) and then I just haven't had the time to get a box and ship it. I've got other stuff I need to send out so I'll get it out in the next day or so.

Thanks for the detailed write up on making the door lid.

Louie and Adam,

Thanks for the blow-by-blow on how to make a 928 both more functional and look like a million dollars. You totally scared me off from attacking a job that requires both patience and skill.

BTW, Louie...you mean the doc won't let you have fun w/Angela? Hope all's well over there. Breathing all those polyester resin fumes will take the lead out of your pencil. Tip: A quarter of a Viagra pill will make it so you don't pee on your feet. Please...don't ask me how I know.

BTW, those are beautiful fenders and obviously inspired by Angela. I'm missing way too much fun.

Keep truckin'

Harvey

Hi Harvey,
There is probably less skill and patience in the fender project than you think. It's more of getting yourself into a hole so deep the only way out is to finish it the best way you can. You realize this about a minute after you've taken a saber saw and cut your completely fine original fender away. The results are just great though.

The feet peeing thing only lasted about a week so that is but a dim unpleasant memory now.

Our snow all went away yesterday so Gerry and I took out 928s out for a drive. It was very gratifying.

I really want to do these, but I need to make sure I can balance the front of the car.

probably, but I don't think Deb wold take too kindly to putting flares on her new Tahoe, and the new Peterbilt has it's own issues....I don't thing your fenders are quite b-i-g enough.

and then I have to feed this (below) every once and a while----that's a damn expensive food bill.
