Is your S4, GT, GTS running like crap? Have you tried the test points as perscribed in the factory manual? DOn't have the manual? Tired of telling people to read the F'n manual?

Here are the LH test points. EZK are in the next post.

Yea I have that section of the manual too. Using the steps on there, I truly ruled out my faulty ISV that I have to live with until I can get a place with a garage to take the intake apart and do my service.

Yes, I've gone through that whole section in detail on the way to solving my fluctuating/dying idle. That's how I can tell you that the three-pin connector nomenclature on page 3 does not agree with the wiring diagrams.

Thank you Andrew - You prompted me to check out the Temp Sensor II (has inifinite resistance to ground on both terminals) on the 90GT in the Hunt for a fluctuating idle - followed by checking the coding plug (Non Cat ) and remembering to install the CO pot. Bouyed up by this fault finding I ran a Spanner check 3 times and also got a faulty LH error (Code 1141) Hopefully with a rebuilt LH and new temp sensor II the GT will be back to running properly again.

Just thought I'd bump this up to the top since there seems to be a rash of idle/hot start/cold start/loss of power issues around.

Good stuff Andrew.............instead of "read the WSM" we'll now point to your great thread.

I'd also add that there's diagnostic tools out there. The Porsche versions are now somewhat antiquated, high $$$ and difficult to source. There's also a few very clever folks who have developed there own more modern versions; not being a sponsor I cant use their names on RL. These tools are well worth the investment especially if there's a group of local cars to test.

Agreed Flyin' Scotsman, as I have used one diagnostic tool in particular over the past couple of years, and has been a great help in troubleshooting many things quickly and easily.
