Raleigh area GTG, any interest?

seems like there are more of us here in the Raleigh area all the time
who's interested in a GTG/tech session? I would happily open my place, I have plenty of space, a sparse but workable garage with lift, grill, the lake is across the street for photo op... I could probably spec out a nice country drive pretty easily
so, anyone else?

Rix,

Just saw this. Any interest in a spring GTG?

Definitely would like a get together. I haven't had any in-person contact with any 928 owners since my purchase. My car isn't running yet, but I would like to meet up with fellow NCers and get/give pointers. BTW, I live in Goldsboro.

I definately think we should have a spring GTG.... hell, I'll even host so we can do a tech session

I'm in. Just let me know when and what i can do to help.

Several Richmonders can definitely make the run.

CJ, do you need help? The Raleigh group has some serious knowledge. Those of us on the fringe might also be able to help. Post a thread about your car, dude!

I'm certainly in for some spring wrench time. Anybody have any area of special interest, or special expertise? Brakes? Exhaust? Intake? Anybody have a Sharktuner?

BTW, any Shark drivers within easy driving distance of Apex/Cary, you are welcome to drop by the Wake Zone (Apex) on a Saturday mornings for coffee, Porsche talk and a nice drive. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ml#post6223638

Chris,

I will probably need the help in the near future and will probably host at the right time. Right now it is more of a money issue (plus it is damn cold in my garage). Car has 170,000 miles on it and does start/run. However, it has a lot of torn rubber under the hood and some mods that have been half ass disconnected by the PO (I think I even found a fuzz buster in the bumper-kinda cool, but trashed). The PO gave me all new carpet (not installed) so I figured I would start there since it would be cheaper and at least feel like I accomplished something before tackling the engine area. I just got new knocks, fuel and vacuum hoses from roger so hopefully I can attempt this in spring/summer. I will post pictures of the interior rebuild as soon as I get enough to make it worth a post (the RAAMaudio sound mat installation is slow going). I would still like to attend a GTG and watch/help/learn. I can bring hand and air tools.

ok... let's start thinking about dates sometime in mid-late April or early May, should be starting to be at least moderately tolerable as far as temps go

Chris,
the intake R&R can be a real PITA, let me know when you're ready to tackle this... BTDT

so everyone knows, I live a mile off 64 between Raleigh and I-95... about 2hrs from Richmond depending on traffic, LE, and how heavy your foot is:burnout:

Rixter,

Thank you for the offer; definitely will provide food/booze/place to crash for the help. Looking forward to the GTG.

This all sounds very positive. Fuel lines should be considered and must be bought new (Rog). There are tricks and patches for other thinkgs in the intake. Collectively, we should be able to assist you getting this 87 back on the road.

I'm in. I may even have the 82 on the road by May...

Listen to Landseer, he's a 928 Boy Scout. One time he armed his Suburban with enough tools to build a house.... and we were just doing motor mounts. ;)

Guys,
Count me in for some wrenching R&R anywhere... just as long as the suns out and it's warm. :)

I have a SharkTuner and would be interested but the odds of being able to get away are probably 50/50.
I'll keep an eye out for the date once it gets dialed in and close. I'm about 5 or 6 hours from Raleigh I believe depending on how fast they let me drive ;)
