I bought 16fl oz of acetone at the CVS next to my office. Label says 100% Acetone Max Strength Nail Polish remover. All the others had water listed as an ingredient. Set me back $2.99. Fair trade not to have to venture to Home Depot.

Nail polish remover has acetone as active ingredient, then stabilizers and stuff to hold it on the nails long enough to do some good on the polish. Straight acetone flashes off almost as fast as you can put it on with those little brush thingies. It's getting tougher to keep nails nice these days.

Yeah, I found that out. After the initial post about this stuff, I drove down to CVS and bought some. The 'non acetone' stuff is marked as such, you can't just walk in and grab the first bottle of nail polish remover you see. I'd been using Liquid Wrench for almost my entire life, but now can't find it in a pour can, only aerosol; acetone and PSF hasn't proven to be all that better so far, but it's easier to come by at three a.m. on a Sunday night when I've ran out of everything else. And I can mix it whenever I need it and let stuff sit in it. Liquid Wrench, when used as a soak in a jar, also kind of dissolved the rust off of stuff as well as loosening the threads; it'll be interesting to see if the acetone/psf mix will do the same thing.
