Default Boxster Wheels on 928

Does anyone know if the wheels off a Boxster will fit an '87 S4? Same bolt pattern?

yes they fit, all Porsche wheels have the same bolt pattern, the offsets are what make or break a set of wheels.

There is a pic of a real nice white S4 or GT with them actually. I think its a white GT with red interior that was sold at auction a year ago, it had the Boxster S 17" wheels.

Try and get the 7" or wider Boxster wheels.
The 6" front wheels are a mite too narrow for the 928.

eehhh i was thinking boxster S, but the OP did say Boxster. Those honestly are some of the worst Porsche wheels ever, they are just a slight upgrade over the S4 dish wheels. I think you could do better (trying to motivate you here)

Don't let Angela read this, she thinks our "Twinks" look great with them.....I'm trying hard to adjust her to the thinking mine just doesn't look good with these wheels on it.

Russ,

I have a set of the 18" Design Sport wheels (by BBS, 2 piece) in 7.5" et50 and 9" et 52 on my '94 GTS. These fit that car well, and I am very pleased with the steering/drivability with Michelin PS2 tires in size 235/40 and 275/35. I think the driveability is every bit as good as the OE Cup II wheels in 17" with et 65 front and 55 rear
I've driven S4's with the 7" twist fronts in 17" et 50, and I did not think that car drove nearly as well as it did with the OE 16" flats.
Your experience may differ!!

My son found a set off a 1999 Boxster....paid $300.00 for the set. He has them on his 1980 model. I THINK they look great!

All Porsche wheels don't have the same bolt pattern, but all modern ones do.

I bought my S4 with 17" Boxster rims & tires. Yes it makes the car look "modern" but the car was outright dangerous to drive - no front grip and unstable in a straight line. Swapped to 8"/9" CS rims with 245's all round, what a difference that made!

The stock Boxster wheel came with 205s in the front which are too small per Porsche's minimum requirements for the 928. The front wheels should be at least 225. I had them on my 1982, and immediately changed the front tires to 225s. I thought that the car handled great, and the tire wear was very consistent I think the 17" wheel is a good fit for the 928s and a step up from the original 16" wheels.
