Default Injection Labs rebuilt MAF will be here on Friday,A Question?

I recently sent My Mass Air Flow Meter to Kevin at Injection Labs. He Called me today to tell me that it's all done. And that I'll have it back on Friday.

I was under the impression, that this would be a simple re-install. But Kevin mentioned something about re-adjusting the mixture. He said it's not difficult. I just need a Voltmeter and something about disconnecting the O2 Sensor.

We didn't get into the details he said I can call him and he'd help walk me through it, But I was wondering if there was a writeup on this online or perhaps someone who has done it could give me tips on what to do.

Perhaps it's not a big deal and I won't have to bother Kevin on a Saturday with this.

Any help is appreciated...

I am sure ours (S4) is just a simple install after he gets it calibrated !@#$? Maybe he is thinking you have an 928S model.

If someone has a C.O. tester you can do it the correct way but in real life
Set the hex adj to about 193 Ohms by using a meter on pins 4 @ 6 I believe. This seems to be the most common setting I have seen on 4 Maf's, factory says 280 Ohms to start. You can hook a volt meter to the Ox sensor look at the voltage and try to get a middle reading allow a little time between adjustments.

Cars shipped w/o cats have a CO adjustment pot near the EZK brain. This would not be true for a US car.

My maf had a brass plug over the adjustment pot I have only seen the 86 vintage. Kevin removes this during the rebuild, I thought the Maf's were the same for a lot of years.

87-up, the MAF screw is not wired to the LH. LH2.3 handles CO, and idle correction.

85-86 32V LH2.2 have a built in function to show you when the MAF is adjusted to the range of the O2 sensor (not mentioned in the WSM).

Ok, THanks for all your help, I will talk to Kevin tomorrow, and ask him again on this. But I'm pretty sure it should be a simple plug and play on my 87 S4...

The 87 and newer 928 ignores the adjustment circuit. You can twist on it forever with no change in mixture. It should be plug and play on your car.

Sorry for my denseness, but I don't know what you guys are talking about, and having just done a complete intake R&R plus a few other critical things, including pulling and cleaning out the MAF real well, and also replacing the o2 sensor down by the cats, do I need to recalibrate my set up? Did taking everything apart somehow mess up my settings? I have an 86.5 car. It seems to run okay, but now I am concerned

I used CRC MAF cleaner - it did a great job (got it at the local NAPA store)- the very fine platinum wires looked like new. There is a thread on it here too, where one guy cleaned his MAF while still in the car (I wouldn't do that tho - easy enough to just pull it out). Plus, I replaced all rubber, including seals in throttle body and at the MAF.
