Here are 2 trouble makers here, obviously planning something at the moment:

As far as tag splitting: I had 2 black on black S4s for a while...

Hey Iceman, what if I decide to roll the dice and drive my shark out to Cali for some vacation. Will I get a ticket for no front plate even though I'm only in state for 2-3 days?

If I do get a $100 ticket and throw that in the back seat with the rest, will AZ cops or DMV screw me with me over that?

Just want to make sure I know what to do and OBEY the revenue generator overlords.

Just stay out of Bezerkely if you can, even though I think you'd otherwise feel real at home there.

Check the National Driver License Compact rules and participating states. Under this agreement member states report violations in their states to motor vehicle departments in the driver's home state. It will probably catch up to you sooner or later. I've seen some pretty disgustingly dirty and illegible front plates though........

Okay, then if I go and get ticket I'll just pay it. I was wondering because that one state with the $3500 speeding ticket is much less if you live out of state.

Can't magnets be used to attach a temp front plate?
What about miracle attach anything to anything putty that coked out dude with the beard mentions in infomericals?

What would you attach the other side of the magnet to?

Hell, make a photo copy of your current tag, laminate it, then zip tie it to the front of your car.

Cali has rule about 'making' plates. Turns out it must be the metal plate they give you. I had a printed plate in a plastic sleeve that tucked nicely into the front of the bra for road trips. Turns out even that's a no-no now. Probably a good thing, since I accidentally swapped two digits in the number. Lesdixia I guess.

The ticket I got allowed no fix-it option. I went through the trouble of fabricating the mount, went to the local PD to get it "signed off", and found out that the CHP officer failed to check the "fix-it" stuff on the back of the ticket. Nice guy. Also found out that the local PD won't sign off any CHP fix-its no matter what; Have to go to a CHP office for that. Huh??? $25 for the ticket, another $10 or so for materials and $1000 in billable time spent making it.

Plan right now is to "frost" the front plate with salt crystals just enough to get it photo-proof. It's a toss-up between photo-proof and increasing the reflectivity to the point where laser will be able to target the plate even at the bumper slope it's at. I'll try the first frosting on Saran Wrap to see how it goes. Film at 11...

Everyone, thanks for all the input...wow, I didnt realize this was such a hot topic, but I have to admit I was very anxious of having to put on a front plate.

For those that DONT have the original plates, Im ordering one from 1 of these 2 replica manufacturers. Hopefully they look like the real thing. They cost somewhere between $50 to $80. Will let you know when I receive it.

Bill, thanks for that link to the pictures, the mounting under the bumper/in the grill will be best.

Cheers.
