lookin at a v8, what do youall say?
Hey guys im a normal over at the 944 board, and ive been looking for a bit more power from my car. Right now I have a 1982 924, i show in car shows, its in perfect condition minus the washer fluid pump(got one ordered). Next year it will be a classic so im looking to sell it and possibly try for a bit more power, the 928 was the obvious choice. My questions were what kind of performance would i be getting with the different 928 models/years, how much am i looking to spend on it, and what are the typical modifications done to 924s, thanks guys and im looking forward to spending some time on the boards.

I believe Phip Tong's website has information about each model year 928. Go to: www.928s4vr.com
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

GT,
I have zero experience with 944's, 924's.
Having said that, I am a fairly new caretaker of a 82' 928 Weissach Auto. she's a mint condition daily driver although my loving spouse has made one exception to that by trashing the front airdam/spoiler.
My sHARk is a comfortable, great handling,
headturner. She is equipped with the older/smaller 4.5L engine but gives nothing away to the local hotrodder crowd. Which is to say even though she is almost 20 years old and weighs in at over 4000lbs she hauls *** and regularly, humiliates the junior Mustang/Camaro crowd. I have had only a minor idle problem, speedo fritz out problem
and the usual problem every 928 owner experiences ; everything from a rust bucket to a Lexus wants to race YOU, and its SO HARD NOT TO!
Parts are readily available and, to me, fairly cheap.
Help is always available on this and other sites to include archives.
Bottom line... Try it you'll like it!
Use the power, Luke.
