Default Texas hosts the 928 Owner’s Club OCIC in 2009

The Texas posse will be hosting the next 928 Owner’s Club International Convention (OCIC) in the summer of 2009 in DFW. Since things are always bigger and better in Texas, come join this fun group of dedicated enthusiasts’ for the best GTG of 2009. Our ability to offer a high level of hospitality and good “old fashioned” fun is second to none. We promise a great time for everyone! This will be a Family event so come one, come all!
Dates are set for July 31st thru August 2nd, 2009, Fri., Sat., and Sun. We are announcing very early so everyone has time to plan and schedule their time off, vacation, business trip or family GTG well in advance; NO EXCUSES!!! This is an event you will not want to miss.
See our web site http://www.928ocicdfw09.com/ for details and to register. Visit often as we will update it frequently with additional information and details.
We have an indoor air-conditioned space for up to 300 cars. The primary hotel, Sheraton is just across the parking lot, with alternate hotels and even a RV Park for those so inclined. We have arranged great prices for the primary and several alternate hotels.
This event is planned as a family friendly adventure with opportunities to tour or visit the Texas Rangers Baseball Stadium, The Legends of the Game Baseball Museum, Six Flags Amusement Park, Hurricane Harbor, the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium as well as shopping and other attractions. We will have free transportation to all of these locations and others.
For the track cars there will be an all day Track event on the Friday. We are hoping to attract some of the more famous 928 drivers to assist at the event. Just a little arm twisting will occur.
For you car guys and gals we will have “Paintless Dent Removal” Clear Bra installation (for the cars, not the gals), Chip Repair, Detail Service, Dyno runs in the convention parking lot plus the track day for you track junkies.
Of course there will be a Concours d’Elegance competition in both full and street classes as well as awards for the “Coolest Car,” “People’s Choice,” “Best prepared track car” plus others and last but not least. . . Your collection of 928 related art, models or memorabilia. So bring your 928 related collections (sorry we don’t want your collection of used/broken parts).
We will have a technical question and answer session chaired by several recognized experts on 928’s as well as product demonstrations, “How-To” demonstrations, displays and vendor literature.

HOTEL RATE IS GUARANTEED AT $119 per NIGHT. PLEAS BOOK AS THE "PORSCHE 928 OWNERS CLUB INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION".

That is too far to drive, we should let the Biggest state host it...

That's terrific news. We have a brother-in-law in Fort Worth, so there'll be absolutely no reason for us to miss this one.

Looking forward to it!

Yeah, maybe we can start having a winter OCIC, and you can host that one. "Sharks Buried Under The Avalanche" or something like that.

Thnx Roger & 'Posse'

Sounds great... and over our Anniversary, too.

How nice ya'll... you shouldn't have.

G'luck all.

Let's see, I can't use the skiing excuse, can't use the broke down excuse, can't use the 'too far' excuse. Sigh, guess I'll be there. Let me know if you need volunteers. I have two teens.

Same weekend as SIH....

Good timing, this past weekend Z, Tim Murphy and myself were talking about the next big 928 get-together.

Is this the same party that was in Wichita a few years ago?

The wife and I have been talking about a road trip to my home town (Lawrence, KS). It's along the way!

Let's see..we could have the PacNW crowd meet the SoCal bunch
in the Bay area ...and all go east thru Tahoe, picking up Tim & Cheryl
then have Bigs put us all up for the night ...after which we could swing
down into AZ getting Phoenix & Tucson folks.. on our way over I-10(posted 80 mph)
to Struther's West texas ranch... before we pick up I-20 into Dallas
and Roger's driveway.

Sounds like a plan, eh? (Malcolm can meet us in UT)

G'luck all
