I ran a "who is" search to see when it was registered. The domain name was registered Feb. 1st but the page was created today. Sterling is the registrar.

Record expires on 01-Feb-2010
Record created on 01-Feb-2008

I'm probably going to be leaving 6-7 days before you guys to visit some friends in Lawrence. So I'll pick a meeting point with the group somewhere in Kansas / Oklahoma.

Erik, Stop by my place when you go thru Dubuque, i am just 11 miles west of Dubuque on HWY 20.

Trust me (us) this is not an April Fools joke! A small team of us have been working our *** off for the past several months.

We will need lots of volunteers so any help is welcome. The announcement is this far in advance to let everyone PLAN. That may envolve moving SIH, don't forget we're talking about 2009.

We also put it far in advance to give Andrew time to get the skunk stink off.

I definitely plan to be there. However, it is unlikely for me to bring my car - unless I have a lot of time and a good co-pilot.

As it is, I simply can't drive the beast for more than 2-3 hours at a time due to my sciatic nerve problem. And I doubt I'll get enough time off of work to allow for plenty of sightseeing along the way. I feel that if I drive that far, I want to visit friends in Austin, see San Antonio, and maybe the gulf coast before heading back. That would be a lot of miles, and a lot of time.

So, most likely I will enlist the services of one of the better known airlines.

Emirates gold frequent flyer card here I come !

I can see that OCIC 2009 will be the third "halfway round the world" trip I have to plan for in the next 15 months. Thats like the cost of two DR superchargers in airfares. mmm now there's an idea - bring one back as hold luggage, "used" opened and ever so slightly scuffed and oil stained thus avoiding any duty.

I will be posting on the Landsharks and UK sites today as well as asking Schocki to do the same in Europe for us.
This is a truly International event and we welcome everyone who can come from any where in the World. You do not have to bring a 928 with you, come as you are and enjoy the party.

Jon,
Can't wait to meet you and spread the word please.
Best,
Roger

It would be nice to have a color flyer we could print out and keep in our cars to hand out / leave under windshield wipers.

I'm not much of a graphic designer (compared to other people on the boards) or else I would toss something together for us to use.

For all of you that think you may not be able to drive to the event I'll throw this out.

At the rate that Roger is buying up 928s, some lucky person may just be in the right place at the right time and in the area of one of his purchases in July/Aug 2009 timeframe. He's always looking for a good pilot to drive one of his babies home, SO, someone may win the "Golden Ticket"!

I would like to make one serious point here so as to clarify the situation should it come into question.
This is NOT a 928sRus event in any WAY, SHAPE or FORM. Unfortunatly I can't post without my signature showing up.
We will be talking to Dave & Jeannie, Mark Anderson, Carl and any other vendors to consider sponsoring and also attending this event. All will be welcome and what a great venue for promoting the capabilities of your companies.
Mark Anderson, John Veringer, Carl Fausett, Stan Shaw & Mark Kibort, the DFW crew would be honored if you would consider attending the event but especially the track day. Your experiance at driving these wonderfull cars could be demonstrated to all and I know I speak for the 928 family when I say COME ON DOWN!!!

We already have the sheets being prepared so hang on a few weeks and we will have plenty of flyers for all.
Sterling Gee - thank you Sterling - is working hard on the web site and soon you will be able to register your intent on coming. Angela - Miss September in WOR - is our PR guru and has some great signature ads for circulation soon.
The DFW crew is the best family group you could ever wish to work with - even Justin has tuned up to help 8>)
