Any other thoughts?

Ive got a small Db meter i can bring.
Im sure the hotel will love this idea

Mongo,

I'm in for the best sounding exhaust, my 1980 Euro S has a great exhaust. It has the absolute minimum of resrtiction, at idle is lets you hear the cam and is not too offensively loud and at above 3K in revs it is an angry wail very much like a dozen sport bikes on steroids. I intend to be a SITM again this year. It is quite simple, a dual inlet\outlet True-X muffler where the US cars have the cat and 2.25 inch pipes woth gentle bends to the rear corner. It also weighs far les than the stock system.

I won't be at SITM (though I'll be at SATP ). So here's an audio clip from my last dyno run:

http://928.jorj7.com/dyno/Jorj7S4-DynoRun-Short.wav

Stock Headers/X-pipe/Random Tech Cats/GT Resonators/RMB

or the corresponding short video clips:
http://928.jorj7.com/dyno/Jorj7S4-DynoRun-Short.mpg (17mb)
http://928.jorj7.com/dyno/Jorj7S4-DynoRun-small.mpg (4mb)

It's a little louder without the cats...

Larry knows I "admire" the sound of his car . Bill Ball's burnout video doesn't even come close to conveying how his engine sounded! He'd be a contender in any of these kinds of contests as well.

Here is one I took a long time ago at SRP in Spokane,

First 928 by is John Davis (87 S4 rmb + x-pipe)
Second is Garth Hadley (GTS with GT cams x-pipe + rmb)
Third is Adam (atb) (88 S4 with ?) Sorry Adam don't remember what system you were running. Video sucks, but good sound!

I vote for Dennis K

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jka4NlJOhvk

Compare the sound of his 928 in stride on the track against the Viper and Ferrari F430...no comparision, the 928 sounds the best!!

Wait till you hear either Louie Ott's or Tim Dey's exhausts....both are deep and throaty ..almost beyond description..you would have to "feel" these exhausts . I think you could resuscitate someone with the exhaust pulses just by laying them down behind the car..

I LOVE the sound of a great 928 exhaust, even if it is subjective.

Additionally, I equally love the sound of a good burnout (accompanied by billowing smoke). Put that together with the sound of the engine and you'll have the makings of a genuine and unforgettable competition!

The problem with the burnout is that some tires don't make noise, others make minimal smoke, etc. If you're not a purist, you can now buy tires that will emit blue or red smoke. I'm old-fashioned...I still like white.

Louie revved his White Monster under my carport and I swear you could feel the house foundation vibrating. That's the coolest 928 I've ever seen/heard/felt.

I love burnouts, don't get me wrong, but doing a burnout/drive off competition from the hotel will FOR SURE get the police involved given enough time. I had the cops come to my house in MI for doing a burnout up my own driveway. Depending on how local laws are written, and enforced, it is very likely to get a disturbing the peace and/or reckless driving citation. Whether or not that will stand up in court is another matter. I'd stick to just listening to drive by noise.
