My son's first ride in the 928
#16
Glad to hear your son had so much fun in your car. Thats a cute story.
I've had my two year old daughter in my car a few times when I needed to pick her up at daycare and we didn't have another car available. Put the baby-seat in the shotgun seat, she was so psyched it was adorable. She started saying "one two three, go!" trying to get me to go faster. I don't know how she figured out it was faster than out other cars because I drove slow and carefully with her in the car, but she was so excited and able to see so much more than being stuck in the back seat. Now she asks to ride in 'daddy's car'

I've created a monster
Now when we take the pick up truck he keeps saying Poorsha, Poorsha...
We took the 928 to the grocery store tonight and as we were walking around he went right up to the Hot Wheels display. He pointed to the Shelby Cobra and asked "Poorsha"? I said "No" then he pointed to the Camaro and again I said "No", then he pointed to a yellow Cayman and asked "Poorsha" and I said "Thats right", so he took it off the display and put it in the cart. When we checked out he showed the check out girl and said "Poorsha" and giggled and he left with his new toy.
What a kid....

Thats a great story! Thanks for sharing...
My 8 & 5 year old daughters loves our 928 too while their mom hates it. The oldest dot - Julia is always asking if I'm going to pick her up after school in the Shark or if we can go for a ride in it every chance she gets. Truth is - on average I probably pick them up two or three times a week in it, so it ain't like they need to prod me to hard to do so. Hey? Any excuse right? Yup she just obviously loves the car.
In fact I was picking her up one day and as we where walking out to the car I was chatting with another parent as our girls along with a couple other girls walked ahead of us. The girls got to the car and her friends started asking about the car – when she started running down the basic list of details she'd commited to memory - like it’s front V8 engine, 2+2, rwd etc., an older kid (maybe 10-12) stepped forward from a group of boys who where also admiring my car & made the mistake of challenging her on her facts.
“Well my dad owns a Porsche” the older boy said knowingly “and I know Porsche never made a V8 and everybody knows that ALL Porsches have their motors in the rear”. But before ol’dad could come to her rescue & intervene – without batting an eyelash she turned to him & said “well you don’t know much about Porsches then do you”. This got a huge roar of laughter from his posse – followed by girlie giggles & snickering from my daughter’s little friends.
Yup, she is her father's daughter.

I managed to surprise my '87 Daughter shortly after she managed to acquire her driver's temp's. Needed to get some supplies, and fill the tank.... Handed her the keys, and you should have seen the varied expressions that crossed her face!
Then, when we pulled into the gas station, someone she knew from school, saw her get out of the driver's seat. You shoulda seen HIS facial expression! Then she saw his amazement, and her face lit up!
Later on, she told me about all the questions she fielded at school; "Yes, it was herself driving Rosy!"
BTW, Rosy is an '87 as well...
Not as good as the original story starting this thread. Just one of my fond "poorsha" memories...

Great story. So much, it inspired me the put the car seat in the 928 this eve. Tomorrow afternoon will be Quinn's (our 15mo old daughter) first ride in the 928.
