SPYC Porsche corral at St. Pete GP
Once again there will be a Porsche corral and car show at the St. Pete Yacht Club. This will take place on saturday, April 5th beginning at 0730. Awards for various categories will be presented at 1230, which is earlier this year to accomodate the ALMS race. A 25.00 donation gets you in and you and your car can park in a gorgeous setting all day until 6:30. Those of us who attended last year had a great time and enjoyed prime parking for the races and some excellent vantage points for race viewing. Info on these is on a "need to know" basis. Chime in if you can attend. It would be great to have a large shark contingent. Think of all the new concourse categories we'd force them to add.
i.e. Best arrangement of dash cracks, prettiest car that wasn't invited, strongest need for dark window tint, etc.
I spoke to the organizer and he also mentioned that lunch tickets would be given out for each donation. Since it's the yacht club, that may only give us the right to approach the table and pay cash. Maybe they'll surprise us. G

Wow! Tons of early responses. Too bad most are from me. Oh well, maybe Mike, Ross and I will make a commotion and just appear to be a larger group. G

George, you know I'll be ther if I'm in town. Last year was great. Maybe Porsche will win this year. They got off to a good start in Sebring.
BTW, everyone who attends will be eligible for kart racing. If enough people attend we will have trophies and medals.
Last year, I came in as the 4th runner up in the " best use of an undersized wheel" category. Damn curb rash. George came within a hairs breadth of winning the "prettiest car that wasn't invited category". The judges came back to his car at least three times.

Not Ed but Sherri
Hi George,
I will be at the race, but not driving a Porsche, unfortunately. Sebring was a blast. Got to stand on the finish line and watch the Porsches cross. It is ALMS, American LeMans Series. You have my cell #, if not pm ED. I will be hanging out sort of working.
Hope to see you guys. Sherri
