She's Ready For Summer!

Randy,
OHhhh...AHhhh.
Looks sweet. Pattycakes wants one.
The intake is a true eyecatcher and centerpiece to the engine compartment.Interior looks great as well. The lower door speaker? Type and depth?
My big feet keep removing the coin holder so I'm looking for an Idea. Already have speaker cables run to and bundled there so....
Was it you who were looking for those gold/bronzed clamps a while back? I can't tell if you found zinc coated hardware for the brace etc. or not. In any case, she is cherried out. I'll bet you could get $4000.00, maybe even $5000.00 for her now.
Now if only you could zinc plate the cookie cutters.
Lot of effort and it shows.

Randy,
Fantastic job!! You are an inspiration to us all.
If only I had the "time"
Say, you wouldn't be interested in an extended vacation in the middle east, would you?

Checking in from Anchorage, Alaska. Impossible to get any sleep when the sun shines 'til 2 o'clock in the freakin' morning!
Jim - yes, that intake has found a happy new home.
Steve - I had the intake coated at a local specialty coatings shop. Took 4 days and $125. Check your local yellow pages. The (steel) cross brace was painted silver with a clear coat - looks even better in person. What do you recommend for the distributor housing and fan bracket? I bought the plug wires from that Eric guy over at SoCal 928 - they have OEM Beru connectors - perfect fit, not sure if they are 'solid core'.
John - The lower door speakers are Blau's. Plenty of depth clearance. I had the gold parts zinc plated at a local shop for $40. I've been offered $25K - turned it down.
Reinhardt - thanks. Send plane ticket and arrange for lodging and expenses - I'm sure we can work something out .

Randy,
I would have the cross brace powder coated red, the same red that’s in the Porsche crest. The distributor housing and fan bracket would be the silver of the intake, just a suggestion. BTW did you know that if you remove the bolt on the intake, you can adjust the CO adjustment screw?

Hey Steve,
I considered painting the X-brace red, but went with silver for a more understated look.
Still not sure which parts you are referring to re. 'distributor housing' and 'fan bracket'.
OK, you got me stumped on the 'CO adjustment screw' reference.

By distributor housing I mean ignition distributor. And the fan bracket supports the engine-cooling fan. Remove the bolt on the intake; you can adjust the CO adjustment screw, read page 34 of the brown book.
I still think your car needs stripes, if you know of anyone how may benefit from this book, let me know.

how would your rate the Leatherique in redyeing the interior pieces? Im doing mine here shortly, a darker grey over a light grey. Coverage shouldnt be an issue but i was just wondering what you thought of the product. Did you use an airbrush to apply it?
Debating either colorplus or leatherique..and suggestions on the dyeing.
Car looks FAB!

Tony - I didn't dye, just rejuvinated and cleaned the leather, although there seems to be good feedback from customers on the leatherique site www.leatherique.com
snowy - thanks.
Tim - yep, back from Anchorage. Yes, let's see those wheel pics.

I had very poor luck with the Leatherique products. They could not match my leather in two attempts and the product comes off on clothing if it gets the least bit wet. The Leatherique also rubs off from wear and tear very easily.
I used Brydana and have been a very satisfied customer. The Brydana product has been on my leather for over a year and with no signs of wear. Not to mention, the Brydana isn't water based and doesn't rub off when it gets wet.

George - thanks. No idea where they are located - I bought it from a reseller on eBay. I think he mentioned they are a Japanese Company.
