Having just watched "The Worlds Fastest Indian" I have this image of Brett out on the tarmac, at 80 years old, filling in the cracks on his tires with shoe polish, while sucking on a nitro glycerine pill, finally getting ready for his big run.

Just read this whole thread and my take is this....
Don't get out there and talk the talk, unless you are ready to walk the walk.
I think if this was my scenario, I would have waited to "announce it to the world" when I was ready to back it up. You can throw HP numbers out there all day, but unless you have proof, this whole discussion is just getting old.
And don't say it's about being the fastest when you keep tossing hp numbers around in every other post you make.
Now I'm going to go out and take a ride in my 2000hp naturally aspirated 1982 928.
Put your money (or in this case, car) where your mouth is.

I have had 2 MGBs in the past. I wonder what the record is for the fastest MGB? I don't think I ever got over 100 mph.
Bret, what is the record for the fastest Porsche in Britain that you are trying to break? There are some RUF Porsches that will do 220 mph.
Thanks,
David

Good question...
The fastest 2 are ...Carrera GT at 205 and a Tuned 911 at 211.9..
Those are the ONLY two with official times...
So in theory 212 should do it, but I am hoping for a lot higher than that...

Just proves my point. You can spend as much as you want, if you aren't willing to do something with it, then what does it matter? Kind of like having a gold ****ter in your house. It might be gold, but unless it does something special, it's still just a ****ter.
The thing that gets my goat is the overall goading everyone on how great british nos stuff is, but I have yet to see the teeth of it. It's all talk.

And hes American....in America....
Thats the ONLY Wizards system in the world that is bigger than mine...hes running a 2000 hp Pro Race system which has 16 Pulsoids to my Pro Race system with only 8 Pulsoids...

dude, this has been going on forever...when are you going to post some numbers?
what was the time on that quarter mile run? 9 seconds? with 1000 hp, that should be about your number...

Haven't been on the forum for a bit and wanted an update from Brett. Really want him to succeed being a N2O guy myself.
Couple quick questions though.
1. I'm only running a 250RWHP hit and needed a second fuel tank and pump just for the nitrous. Even after upgrading the stock fuel pump it was not enough/ 3 gallon tank up front is a 50/50 mix of toulene and 102 octane.
2. How are you rtearding timing? Extreme amounts of N2O can cause detonation. Again, I'm at 250RWHP of nitrous and have to retard 8* even with toulene.
3. I see you're taping fuel of the stock rails, so I'm assuming your only running one fuel pump..dangerous situation of going very, very lean.
4. Nitrous lines coming off the bottle are not rated to flow 500hp each, accourding to the WON website. You need larger macroline or even 6an braided. I have a single 6an braided to flow 250, as 4an wouldn't support it.
5. Finally and most important..The formula for calculating your nitrous usage is: 0.8 lbs N2O X 10 seconds = 100 horsepower. I.E. If your system is jetted for 100 horsepower it will use 0.8 lbs of nitrous for every 10 seconds of usage. That means you'll use 8 pounds every 10 seconds @ 1000hp. With 2 tanks you won't have enough juice to perform the run. Don't forget, even with bottle heaters, pulling that much nitrous out of the bottles, that quickly will cool the bottles drastically. Cooler bottles means less pressure than therefor less nitrous delivered over time and a richer fuel mix. Also you can never get the last 5 pounds or so out of a 20 pound bottle. At the drag strip my warmers take a good ten minutes to get the bottle back over 950psi after just a 12 second run @ just a 250RWHP shot of the giggle gas.
Don't get me wrong, I want you to succeed, just not sure you've added everything up correctly.

Fatest street legal car in the UK.
BTW, I have the fastest street car in my neighborhood. I'm going to embrace this new found record that I didn't realize that I hold. I may get a sticker for the back of the car and a trophy to put on my mantle.
Heres Bretts 1/4 mile run
And another

Ok...answer in order as above...
1,2,3
Fuel....I am running off the front of BOTH fuel rails and to KNOW I dont have a pressure problem, I have a Fuel Transducer on the rails that send a signal to my Maxx Extreme Race controller inside (in eyeline) and have had no pressure problems so far...touch wood.
Retard....With my progressive controller ,I have not yet had to retard the ignition although it does have an output for it and I could use my 928 low octane bridge to retard by 6 degrees if needed.
4, You forget I have twin 15lb bottles which can run separately for each bank of the V8 so 500hp PER bottle, with lines to match...
5, As Trevor Langfield (M.D of Wizards of NOS) designed My Pro Race System himself for just 2 cars, mine and an American Pro drag car....
The figures you quoted for Nitrous consumption are correct for normal systems but dont apply to this pro race system as the Nitrous is injected in a different way.
I cannot go too deeply into how, as this is not publicly available yet.
But basically instead of Nitrous injectors or crossfires think of a 8 pipe system that goes directly from 4 Pulsoids straight into my central plenum on the 16 valve.
It uses a LOT less Nitrous and the extra fuel is injected with 8 venom injectors straight into the spider legs (roughly just before the bend) from another 4 Fuel Pulsoids....
I have twin heaters on the bottles although I may well change that to Nitrogen Push with a third bottle....or possibly 4 x 15lb bottles with twin Nitrogen bottles...not finally decided yet.
I hope I get it right as well lol....
All the best Brett
