THERE WAS NOT ONE OUNCE OF TECHNICAL INFORMATION IN ANDREW'S THREAD!!!

It was how many pages of banter and usless discussion (some of it derogatory towards a former member).

If I were "you know who" I would be happy that thread was deleted. I countd about 7 posts that were downright inflammatory towards him. IMO that is the #1 reason why that thread was deleted. There was no useful information to be gained from it and the content of the thread was in the gutter and falling fast.
This is the first hint I've had as to why it was deleted. Erik, if this is the reason, then it makes perfect sense to me.

There are many non-technical threads started here everyday, and it's usually not inflammatory stuff, so if it's got 928 content it stays, if not, it goes to OT. Simple.

If this thread did turn negative, as others have, AND it didn't contain any technical content, then it doesn't hurt to have it deleted. If there was any technical content to be saved and researched later though, I would hope that the mods would just remove the derogatory post(s) and let the thread remain for future searches and reference.

This TECHNICAL forum can only exist with impartial or positive posts from people who want to contribute what they know and ask for experiences and advice from others. Negative posts and threads contribute nothing, but they take away a great deal. When it becomes a personal attack on anyone's opinion or character, the mods should and usually do cut it off.

A digital monkey is something (it saddens me that I have to say this) any grown adult shouldn't take very seriously.

Not to mention your memory is a bit fuzzy as to who posted the video.

And, the comments I'm referring to were 10x's worse then the video.
Hacker, I remember who posted the video. I also remember who PM'ed me the link to the video prior to that. I won't name any names, thats not the point here. You made mention thats its never OK to say nasty things about people and I just find that funny. For the record, I did think the monkey video was funny. Obviously it wasn't directed at me, but I think I would still have found it funny. The subject of that video found absolutely no humor in it.

Just so you know, I have no personal issues w/ you. You have just been very vocal about this particular subject and I have issue with that since it has contributed to the removal of some good threads in my opinion.

Ditto - I'm just thinking out loud. Usually that get me into trouble.

The video thread was deleted & the video wasn't even directed towards a Rennlist member. AFAIK the creator is still a mystery.

I didn't see the other thread from Saturday night. From the many e-mails I've received, that thread (and what it led to) has a lot to do with why Andrew's thread was axed.

This isn't even close to the first time we've seen something like this happen around here. So all this talk about the new Rennlist is BS.

Back in 02-04 how many supercharger threads were deleted? Some were 15+ pages, gone forever. Those were full of technical information, but the threads go way out of hand. The days after these threads were deleted, any talk or mention of the deleted threads were also deleted.

For the record, some seam to be getting the impression that just because I claim to understand the deletion that I agree with it. Not so.

1. The video was depicting the brother and he was talking about the TT builder and how great he was. The homosexual/incestuous comments in the video were the only thing that I felt crossed the line.

2. I didn't see a different thread on Sat. night. As far as I know, we are talking about the thread that Andrew started where he said not to mention the builders name. That one never made it to Sat. night. It was deleted Sat afternoon.

3. I agree. Its got nothing to do with the "new" Rennlist. There has been bias here long before the buy out.

4. It looks like you and I are the only ones keeping this thread alive. I'm stepping out for awhile to see if anyone else has anything to add. Why should you and I have all the fun?

I was told there was a different thread and follow up threads on Saturday night that were deleted. Andrew's thread spoke of the Saturday night "Incident".

Bias towards what? Paying vendors? Why wouldn't there be? No different than Pelican removing any threads / posts of competing vendors.
I'm on a lot more forums than probably anyone else here. Rennlist is pretty wide open compared to any other. People pulling the free speech card....well, go spend a day on any other forum.
I guess that is why I defend this place so much. I know what it could be like, they say the grass is always greener. I've been on the other lawns, it's very brown.

I could care less whether we are allowed to discuss it or not. I just want some clarity ont he matter. If the designer of a certain power enhancement for the 928 is a taboo subject, then Randy and John D. should just come out and say it. If I know that, I can live with it. It's the abiguity of where the line is that I have trouble with.

Maybe Randy or John D can give us some better guidlines, otherwise I'm afraid this thread will come up again and again and agian and again...

I am thinking that no-one else has a twin turbo setup so how could that compete with existing sponsors? That excuse doesn't hold water. Sure, it could be grouped into "forced induction" but that's getting a bit broad...different styles, different price points.

I'm going to go out on a limb here.
If I remember correctly, before the guy being discussed here parted ways with Rennlist he threatened legal action when the discussion wasn't favorable to his wares. The way the thread in question was heading, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case once again. He is banned from here so he cannot defend himself so I could see him pulling the legal action card once again, and make threats to have it removed or else kind of a thing.

Just my guess.

I also found the thread interesting and I am sure that Randy had good reason for doing what he did. After all, it may not have even been his choice.

I though Abby had declared that we call him by a code name. I believe it was Schmoopie.
